Again and again innocent folks are being murdered on the streets , in thier homes and at thier jobs and nothing is being done by the authorities to put an end to this out of control crime wave.
Yesterday a prominent bussinessman was gunned down, he employed 30 to 40 people, now I am not sure if these employees will have a job. This man also left behind two very young children ages7 and 5.
I visited Guyana a few months ago and I have concluded that Guyana is a very, very dangerous place.I understand that there is crime all over the world but the problem in Guyana is no one is being caught and bring before the courts for this vicious robberies and murders.

Here on GNI YOU HAVE APOLOGISTS FOR THE GOV'T, MEN LIKE SUGAWORKER, among others, who are programed to attack and slander anyone who crticizes the current administration.

PJ....the PPP does not have the constitutional authority to extend Jagdeo's term beyond 2011.....he has served his two full terms and thats it constitutionally.....

For the term limitations to be extended a two-thirds vote is needed in parliament and this can only happen if the PNC is in agreement with a move to extend Jagdeo's term.....

Thanks for the explanation! Let's assume this option becomes possible, do you think Jagdeo third term as president is an excellent idea for Guyana's prosperity, or a move to greater disaster?

The Jagdeo presidency has been disastrous on both the economic and internal security fronts. To even think about extending his tenure beyond 2011 is to conclude here and now that Guyana is a failed state without possibility of redepmtion.

And if the PNC assents to any request for Jagdeo to extend his tenure beyond 2011 in exchange for the PNC getting the PM slot, then this is a recipe for a definite dictatorship. This means the PPP and PNC get what THEY want but the people will have to settle for whatever decisions the PPP and PNC make.

And if the PNCs 28 years and the PPPs 16 years are any barometer of what the two parties will do for the people, then we know the end result already.

Have you ever noticed that the PPP and PNC have one thing in common in their names? It's the word PEOPLE!!! But when it comes to both parties the PEOPLE are at the bottom of their lists of priorities.
