After much debate on Guyana’s dreadful politics under the PPP, and the endless controversy surrounding the Jagdeo administration, with crime on the rise, three unsolved massacres, and many more countless, unanswered questions shun off by the president, it is now a clear indication that our commander-in-chief is unable or unwilling to lead the Guyanese nation effectively, and exhibits weakness to command the nation arm forces to combat a major criminal crisis that held Guyana under siege for too long without any solution in sight.
With this in mind, the President should do the honorable thing and step down before his term is ended. Guyana is in a desperate need for an immediate change of a strong and mature leadership who can implement new policies and able to enforced them to work effectively for the good of a nation without fear. With all fairness to the president, many says he is doing his best, but his best in not good enough and only worsen as time goes by, as if he is just riding the waves until his term of office ends ashore. Jagdeo have done a great injustice to the PPP party and causing friction among party members who are more mature, wiser and experienced in the field of government. The PPP party suffers a great set back in light of winning elections again in 2011 due to the failed and weak governance of the Jagdeo administration. All the positive achievements accomplished by Jagdeo and the PPP are now outweighed by the negative indulgence, corruption, and weak leadership to control the country’s rising crime activities. Our fallen hero, Cheddi Jagan, lived and died for his country, his people, and his party of which he maintained, honor, respect and credibility. Today, every thing that Jagan stand for is just a daily gamble from a boy that was put to do a man’s job. In 2006, when Guyana conducted its first free and fair election without political conflicts, it was a turning point in the making of a new and young democracy for a nation that yearned for changes after many years of political unrest and struggle. Our young, elected president had everything at his disposal after eight years of prior experience to lead Guyana with law and order, but he failed us tremendously when he allowed a dark history to repeat itself upon his people. Unfortunately, the change Jagdeo brought us comes with more crimes, killing, massacres, and constant fear to live in peace under his administration. Today, I look at politics and party preference differently. Both black and Indian leaders failed us and we must learn to make good judgment without bias. Though, there are still honorable black/Indian-men/women, among other races to lead Guyana out of a modern day crisis, the PPP/PNC must make major reform to regain the people’s trust and hope to rule without corruption. It is a far cry, but only hope we have that our next president will be a true leader of honor, country and people. Jagdeo should step down and save the shame on his face for ruining his people and country. Cheddi is weeping in heaven, and three more years will make Jagdeo another LFSB in the history book. |

Why Jagdeo and not the entire PPP Gov't? Is Jagdeo independent of the PPP? |

He's the puppet master. There has been no evolution, but a lot of confusion, under the current constitution. So the public demands restitution as a solution. |

I wouldn't go as far to say all PPP members are the same. Jagdeo is messing things up for other honorable party members. He is a very undesirable president right now for Guyana. |

Any mature party member favorable and acceptable to uphold the dignity of the office of the president and fearless to command until next election. One who have the country and the people interest at heart over his own. |

Jagdeo told a crowd of black folks that if they think he is racist, wait until some other people( I guess from the party) get into power.
From that day to now, most black folks support the president. |

I don't believe that, but if he did, that was low and immature for a president to say to anyone. This is more of a reason for him to step down.

Chief, you are quite correct. This is the same person who in the run up to the elections told the folks at Babu John that if the PNC were to win the elections"those who steal guns now would not have the steal guns." So anything is possible from the mouth of this great leader.Just look at the manner in which he attacked Yesu Persaud. |

This will be the first time in the History of the World that a President will resign because he lacks great Communication Skills or he is not good with using sensitive and appropriate words.
PJ, In that case Bush DE Dummy would have asked to resign the very Day he took the oath of Office. |

Over all Jagdeo is the worst president we ever had in Guyana. Even worst than Burnham at this stage of his career. But most black folks prefer him than any other evil that the PPP could put forward. Robert Persaud will make Jagdeo look like and alter boy if he gets the presidency and Jagdeo already knows that.

The call for him to step down is not about poor communication skill, but his lack of power to lead effectively with a criminal crisis on hand that he allows to go out of control. He is now a lame duck president who is buying time to pass the burden on to someone else. |

With regards to Crime, Security, Violence and Law Enforcement, I have stated many many times that he FAILED in those categories. However, I do not believe that it is enough to call for his resignation. You have to agree that the situation is SLOWLY improving and the High Level criminals are not captured but are on the RUN.I believe he is worried about using his absolute POWER because the socalled Opposition will cry Wolf. So my friend, it is more complicated and slippery that you may think it is. But like i said, he gets failing grades for those Areas.
