With big police operations going on in North Ruimveldt, Sophia, Ogle and the East Bank where are the helicopters the PPP Govt claimed would fight crime? Are they broken down, or does fuel cost too much for them to operate.

I never see so many stupid ppl try to answer such a simple answer. Don't you guys know that fuel prices have rocketed upwards since those helicopters arrived? The helicopters ran out of gas and nobody has any money for the refill right now.

For someone with only 145 posts you seem to know a lot, won't you say? If you know better about the helicopters, well split the beans. They produce a lot of gas as well.

I am the reincarnation of an old GNI soul. One of the helicopters is being serviced. The other is in use. Good news will be received soon.

Gupta,

This is an excellent observation, your detractors notwithstanding. This last big shoot-out you referenced is exactly the reason why the corrupt and inept government decided to go out and, with much fanfare, bought two helicopters.

1.5 million US dollars for two pre-owned copters that are not just pre-owned but are pre-historic derelicts that were sitting in somebody's garbage dump waiting to be decimated in a scrap metal business.

Ooh, how the loudmouths of the administration brayed and bellowed and boasted that the copters will be seen in action putting a dent in crime. they will have infrared lights. They can carry four. They can do this and do that. The wow factor never left our heads!

Then there was this gun fight a few nights ago and the copters were never used.

This, my friend, is symptomatic of what is wrong with the President and his goons. They're a bunch of nitwits with half-baked ideas that yield no good results. Not on the economy. Not in society. Not in politics.

Night flying capability has to be built into the instrumentation and you also need pilots who have been trained for and are qualified to fly at night. This applies to both helicopters and aeroplanes. I don't know if the helicopters are equipped to fly at night or whether the pilots are certified to fly at night. Without those details at hand is is difficult to pass judgement on why the helicopters were not used.

Mr. T,

There is no one in their right mind who can defend this government on the copter issue. NO ONE! And that goes for you!

When these brain-dead ASStronauts decided to buy the helicopters, don't you think they'd factor your pointed observations into consideration? Guyana is a poor arse country with barely enough money to pay people decent wages, yet the government took taxpayers money and went out and bought two pre-historic derelicts at 1.5 million US dollars to do a specific job of fighting crime, but when there is a gun fight purportedly involving criminal, the copters are MIA - missing in action.

Do you know how much 1.5 million US dollars can do for any impoverished village in Guyana?

Do you recall the month when these copters were acquired? How many weeks were needed since then to do those things you mentioned above? One blog report said that one copter is in the hinterland after encountering mechanical difficulties out back. The other copter is said to be on reserve to fly the President and Robert and Janet to safety in event...

Look, in business circles, when a CEO invests shareholders money in a venture and the venture flops big time, angry shareholders usually pressure board members to ask for the CEO's resignation. In politics, such an official in government, like Japan's, would have committed suicide as a form of honor for such a major loss of money and humiliating loss of national pride.

In Guyana, it's business as usual.

Mr Communicator, I have to say I am also concerned about the APPARENT limited use of the copters. I am hoping the apparent limited usage is for other reasons than those you have mentioned.

I dont the see the need to use the copters on every incident however, I anxiously await more info from the relevant authorites. Have a great evening.

Who is defending the government??? Or are you so blind to the air safety and hazards associated with flying at night?

You are not very smart are you? It is not the 1st time you butt into a discussion between two other people with comments that have jack all to do with what is being discussed. Go back you fool and read the piece again and you might then gather that Sugarworker commented on things that took part on GNI long before he had placed his 1st post.

FIRST:

I made a reference to a specific item:

Post count =equated to= knowledge. dunno

It is immaterial what Canecutter subsequently posted.

It is known that, except for the Social Forum, any NON-MEMBER, can read ONLY the posts to the other forums.

ERGO:

1. Regardless of post counts for any registered member, that person could have been reading GNI forums since its inception, even though, in this case, CaneCutter had only 145 posts.

2. A newly registered member could have already formulated his/her views on many existing registered members.

SECOND:

1. Relative to GNI rules and guidelines, any thread, post, etc., is subject to comments by ANY GNI registered member.

2. Each individual is responsible for his/her deportment, relative to the terms and conditions, when ALL re-registered a few weeks ago.

THIRD:

1. There is NO exclusivity in dialogues during any discussion threads on any of the Forums, except what might be determined on the Debate Central forum.

2. On the Debate Central Forum, based on the mutually agreed rules for the debate, the discussions can take place, exclusively, between two individuals or by designated individuals.

OBSERVATIONS:

1. If you are aware of GNI rules that differ from the above, provide them for the benefit of all GNI members.
