actually , israel needs to also wake up to the fact palestine will always be their achilles heel until they are given statehood . So both arabs abd jews need to wake up and face the realities of the situation and how it impacts the region .

More israelis desire peace , a resolution with palestinians but the US prefers the divide , is suits their need and this has to be changed .

I believe in the years following his presidency and refereeing democratic systems in many countries , serving the poor and underpriviliged , Jimmy Carter has now begun to understand the requirements for mideast peace .

Any solution for one born out of injustice to another will lead to nothing but violence and resistance. I'm not in anyway justifying many of the actions taken in response, however the underlying facts are injustice. Human beings have forever been a migratory specie so the fact that Israelis were there some time ago cannot justifying throwing another off the land after generations. Israel/Jews have the right to exist however, this will only be solidified when the Palestinians are given a fair and just deal. Everyone will never be happy, but a compromise that bring not only a viable state, but something of pride and meaning, e.g. East Jeruselem.
