Again and again innocent folks are being murdered on the streets , in thier homes and at thier jobs and nothing is being done by the authorities to put an end to this out of control crime wave.
Yesterday a prominent bussinessman was gunned down, he employed 30 to 40 people, now I am not sure if these employees will have a job. This man also left behind two very young children ages7 and 5.
I visited Guyana a few months ago and I have concluded that Guyana is a very, very dangerous place.I understand that there is crime all over the world but the problem in Guyana is no one is being caught and bring before the courts for this vicious robberies and murders.

Here on GNI YOU HAVE APOLOGISTS FOR THE GOV'T, MEN LIKE SUGAWORKER, among others, who are programed to attack and slander anyone who crticizes the current administration.
I will like to ask these apologists a simple question how many more will have to die?

Chief why is there so much crime in first place?

Is it that these criminals are so greedy for quick money that they will kill anyone at anytime?

Chief,

The gov't has been pouring more resources into the police force but they are not getting good results. We know that there is no way of preventing every single crime, but it is possible to lower the incidence of crime.

Could akbar's murder be prevented? The PPP members should have been there guarding the bank to prevent it from happening?

They need another 5000 armed police officers patrolling the streets to prevent crimes like this from happening.

Just put a few armed policemen in front of the banks. Common sense.

Billy, Greene is clueless and the police force is riddled with corruption and criminal elements. There needs to be a total overhaul of policing in Guyana.

A week ago, bandits shot two Guyanese business persons in Barbados leaving one dead and the other in critical condition. Yesterday, Akbar of Logwood, Enmore was robbed and killed in front of a bank in Georgetown at 1:00pm. There is an urgent need to battle crime not only in Guyana but in the entire Caribbean region.

The pattern of these crimes, indicates that there is a connection from inside the banks and the criminals. It's well organized.

The PPP's government is reponsible to formulate plans and stategies to fight crimes. It is the responsiblities of the Police to exececute those plans, But you don't have the capacity to understand that.

We need better police protection, and we also need to advise people how to go about doing their business in Gtown. There are businessmen who have been doing business in Town many decades without being nailed by bandits. These people are very savvy. They don't let their guards down. I see many business people carry on carelessly as if there are no thieves in G/Town.

And if the police do not execute the plans so laboriously formulated by the Govt what should the Govt do? Or did they forget to formulate a plan for that?

Chief,

Police departments around world always advise people how to avoid being a victim of crime.
