Excess bag embargo necessary for Guyana

July 23, 2008

Starting Thursday at Delta Airlines, we're implementing an indefinite excess baggage
embargo to and from Georgetown, Guyana, because of heavy load factors and bag counts.

Passengers may continue to check two bags weighing up to 50 pounds at no charge.
(The $25 second checked-bag fee applies to passengers traveling domestically.)

Bags weighing 51 pounds to 70 pounds will be charged applicable excess baggage fee.

Passengers who bought tickets prior to Thursday will be allowed to check excess baggage,
however they should be advised that their excess baggage may not ride on the same flight
and may be delayed several days due to heavy load factors.

Passengers who buy tickets on or after Thursday will not be allowed to check any excess
pieces, overweight pieces or oversize pieces.

Our premium passengers and elite level SkyMiles Medallion members will continue to be
allowed three checked bags at no charge up to 70 pounds each.

Carry-on baggage still will be limited to one carry-on and one personal item.

Not a bad idea. We might have to backwards first before we go forward with this energy crisis.

Donkey cart manufacturers seriously need to become innovative and energy conscious. They need to start looking at using light metals and plastics in constructing stronger and lighter carts to get improved horse and donkey power. Drivers could get their carts to run faster and carry more load. It's a challenge for our donkey cart engineers to tackle. Big Grin flag
