President Jagdeo's Pattern of Highly Antagonistic Behaviour After his most recent outburst we've been reflecting on some of the more telling public utterances and actions by His Excellency President Bharrat Jagdeo. After a bit of reflection we have noticed a trend and have now become concerned. President Jagdeo seems to be always agitated, restless, annoyed, upset and as a result he has no patience and just does and says seemingly irrational things. Is it healthy for the president of the nation to be so uptight, agitated, antagonistic, aggressive and intimidatory? Let's look back: >President Jagdeo lashes out at David DeCaires and Anna Benjamin of Stabroek News for upbraiding him on the loose and casual manner in which he dressed while on an official head of state visit in South America. >President Jagdeo takes away the state issues vehicle to the legally acting First Lady, his wife, Varshnie Jagdeo from whom he was separated but not divorced. >President Jagdeo vindictively pulls ads from Stabroek News (ads were only returned so as to allow for government ads to be given to Guyana Times, the newspaper owned by a personal friend of his) >When criticized by former president Janet Jagan, President Jagdeo lashed out against the former president. >President Jagdeo refused to fire a certain minister of government even after his disgraceful public act of gun toting assault on a private citizen. >President Jagdeo inexplicably appointed the inexperienced and unimpressive Caroline Rodrigues to head one of the most important ministries of government. >President Jagdeo in a fit of rage publicly beats down Captain Gerry Gouvia, calling him silly. >President Jagdeo foolishly publicly beats down citizens of Guyana calling us schizophrenic. >President Jagdeo furiously pulls CNS Channel Six off air for four months sparking great controversy. >President Jagdeo publicly beats down one of the most distinguished businessmen in the Caribbean Yesu Persaud the chairman of Demerara Distillers Limited. President Jagdeo declares that Mr. Persaud exhibited a profound ignorance of Guyanese tax laws and that he had joined the ranks of the ignorant people. >At the same time, while beating down Mr. Persaud, President Jagdeo went slightly berserk and declared "I don't care! At this stage of my life I don't care!" >Added to this President Jagdeo regularly lashes out at the media with fury. What is happening the President Jagdeo? Can someone please explain to us? It would be unfair not to note that there were times during these same period when he exercised great restraint and presented himself in a very statesmanlike manner such as handling the resolution of the border dispute with Suriname however this clear pattern of highly aggressive, intimidatory and antagonistic behaviour is very disturbing and needs to be analyzed and examined carefully. |

Did Baby Kong not also 'cuss down' Micheal Correia the President of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association at the opening of GuyExpo 2006?
Baby Kong told Correia that he was 'immature'. |
