I read on one of the threads that Bharrat and Varshnie were not legally married. Does this mean that they were living in sin?

You guys know I am a virulent critic of Jagdeo's leadership of Guyana, but even I can discern this is not a subject for discussion. True, Jagdeo is a public figure and what he does while in office subjects him to public scrutiny. But because his ex-wife is no longer a public figure, by virtue of their legal separation, it would be unfair to target him unless we can also target her.

I have no idea whether they were legally married, but so far, all we know is they are n longer together and she has not spoken publicly on the marriage or the separation. One news report said she signed a legal document agreeing to a pay off of 18 million GY dollars, but did that document contain a clause ordering her to not kiss and tell?

Bottom line, this particularly private aspect of Jagdeo's life is better left untouched in public discussions, if only because Varshnie is not being discussed with the same degree of intensity. Who knows what faults she had that contributed to the dissolution of their marriage or arrangement or whatever we want to call it? Unless someone can come up with anything credible on her, let's spare him the 'bedroom' criticisms.

And that is how indeed the matter should be treated.

I am assuming this whole story is a joke because the very idea is not only scandalous but quite remote even for a openly perverse person.

Taking it as a hypothetical; if he lied that he was married then he scammed us; "no ifs ands or buts" abut such conclusion. That ought to be transparently clear.

There is no such thing as privacy in this area. If they were not married then they are both practiced liars. He would be the worse since it would mean he is truly gay and needed coverage. That would make him a hypocrite as well since he would have created a scam union with intent to deceive. He is not allowed to lie. You folks would be more than craven sycophants to appeal to such a privilege. Much worse you would have had to appeal to our sense of decency to cover up a lie!

You surprise me daily at the latitude you presume we ought to allow these people have who are supposed to be the custodians of our national trust. I think you have it in reverse. We ought to give them none and demand all moral conditions be met with unflinching exactitude!

Varshnie was in NYC not too long ago and said that she is still the first lady. Why should she be doubted?

I am taking this as rumor mongering in the extreme. Even the worse of individuals would not be so perverse as to practice such craven fraud on a people.

She is the first lady if they are "still legally married". But why did she and BJ seperation made public and what is the meaning of that? Someone is lying.
