D2 is right. There is need for a structured forum where we stick only to the topic at hand. Of course such a format does not have to replace the current GNI. It can complement GNI.

you kidding Big Grin

who gonna make time to do all this
It is not expected to be running a thousand threads a month. It is actually structured to be a reservoir of clearly articulated opinions and even if there are only 6 challenges a month; we would have 12 papers of a semi serious nature with two sides to it fully articulated to the capacity of the opposing sides.

How many of you know what CaribJ means when he say "Indians are clannish"; as opposed to Africans are a quasi group of fully operating individuals? One og you can challenge him to a debate to clarify the issue and present an alternative case. How about him explaining why he opposes constitutional changes etc?

Again, it is simply a site where we can even get external challenges and submissions from people not posting regularly but who felt they need to be heard. It is not a regular forum! WOuld you not get a kick challenging and seeing Kidmost-of- the-big-mouth- clan tell you why "Indians are spineless and he being Indian is not"? How about Asif really "writing a paper" on a position he embraces ie " there is no race based voting in the Guyanese elections"

Perfect. I personally find great amusement in the ad hominem nonsense that sometimes derails discussion....but at the same time get frustrated when a serious topic gets off track. A moderator would be a valuable asset here..and can be invoked when a serious thread is going a route other than what its originator intends...

I think there are some good threads here that are worthy of archiving...after eliminating the dross and off -topic comments.

Valid point. But then that would mean eliminating all of pJ's material...and inasmuch as the thing is a dolt, it does, as I have pointed out on numerous occasions, add humor to the boards. Big Grin

For you political gurus, the (PJ) humor will be there and desperately needed when the self proclaimed elite political debators finish with their high level gyaffing. I hope the third class members may have a chance to weigh in on the aftermath.
