Release clandestine video footage of criminals, cohorts aback of BuxtonSeptember 3, 2008 Fine Man’s diary must also be made public - Ramjattan In light of the recent killings of some of the members of the Rondell ‘Fine Man’ Rawlins gang, Alliance for Change Chairman Khemraj Ramjattan says that the way has been cleared and there is now no excuse for President Bharrat Jagdeo to release the purported footage of the gang operating in Buxton. According to Ramjattan, the public has a right to know who were the people “cavorting with the beasts.†President Jagdeo had earlier in the year announced that the security forces are in possession of video tapes that contain gripping evidence of the ‘Fine Man’ (Rondell Rawlins) gang operating on the East Coast and it was very likely that persons whose images appeared on a tape recording meeting with gunmen in Buxton could be detained soon. It has been several months now but only persons who have allegedly committed several heinous crimes have been shot and killed by the Joint Services. “Some people would be embarrassed. The same people who run around the place and call for inquiries and speak about the Joint Services, they will be thoroughly embarrassed,†the president remarked about the footage. He went on to say that when the footage is released, “You are going to see some very damning things come out about linkages. I know for sure, because I see the security forces’ reports…Now I have seen a lot of political figures are linked, too.†He said that the video footage existed even before the Lusignan massacre. However, the tape was not released because it would have compromised the clandestine operation that led to the footage being obtained. This is the basis of Ramjattan’s comment of there being no more excuses, given that most if not all of the criminals on the tape are dead. Jagdeo had explained that some of the footage was taken from houses in Buxton and a release of the tape would have shown the angle from which it was taken. The other set of footage was taken by informants who had hidden cameras and who were sitting next to the criminals. “If we make that public, we would betray who the informants were and the houses from which the surveillance was taken. But clearly when the faces were extracted from the footage, and they were available to the security forces, they(the forces) looked at them even before Lusignan,†according to the President. Apart from “Fine Man†and Jermaine Charles called Skinny, several persons whose images were purportedly extracted from the footage have been shot and killed by the Joint Services in recent months. Among the men fingered in the released photographs and now dead are 17-year-old Otis Fiffee, called ‘Mud Up’; Cecil Ramcharran, 42, and Uncle Willie and Robin Chung, called ‘Chung Boy’, 16. FINE MAN’S DIARY Ramjattan yesterday emphasized that the diary that was found following the Christmas Falls shootout with the gang members must also be released. He noted that this was necessary for the public to understand the darker side of Rawlins and would assist with a greater understanding of his motives. He noted that the contents of the diary must also be studied to find out the root causes of what drove him to commit such heinous acts, noting that it could be used to prevent reoccurrences. According to police, the diary had made mention of the Lusignan massacre and the death of his sister Marcyn King. |

I am speaking of the President using the the claim of possession of footage to imply that he knows who are cohorts of the criminals and insinuating it is members of the opposition. Nothing prohibits him from confirming a fact and putting the matter straight that he is a truth teller. |

There are probably some back door dealings with the PNC or others to avoid embarrasment. If they really have that, the fact that is not being released means they are tracking activities of certain people who probably doesn't even know they are being watched. From a security standpoint, they most likely have good reasons to keep in under raps. |

Jagdeo was only bluffing that he got a video tape. None would be released because none exists.
Remember Jagdeo had said he knew who Shaw's killers were. Has he said anything about the names since he made that claim? |

Baseman, You can't eat your cake and still expect to have it! You cannot make condemnatory statements against criminal elements, especially if they are allegedly linked to the PNC, and then turn around and excuse the PPP government as making some back door deal with the PNC over tapes showing politicians in direct contact with criminals. This is adding public insult to the private pain victims and relatives of dead victims are feeling. But then again, we are talking about the PPP which has never really cared about Indians, except at elections time when votes are needed. Nevertheless, you have to stick to your guns, bro. Take a principled stand against any back door deals to make the PNC walk away from responsibility if it is responsible. The PPP and PNC don't own Guyana! It is not up to them to decide who lives and who dies! Who gets punished and who gets pardoned! The law is paramount. Justice is paramount! |

I dont disagree with you, and I also wish it was so but, who ever said politics was clean and pristine. I think even in the succession for the pope there are back door dealings. Surely justice is paramount, just after self and power preservation. |

A long time ago an arrangement was made that neither party would use evidence to put one of their elites in prison. For political purposes implications was allright, this far and no further. The agreement has been kept. The corruption of higherups of both parties are well known, yet when was the last time any one of those so-called bramhins ever been in handcuffs, of either party. If tapes exist showing wrongdoing by any so-called elite of either party, it will never see the light of day. After all these years both parties have the goods on each other, and it's in their vaults where it will stay. Burnham and Janet signed that pact a long time ago and it has kept the criminals ( the so-called elites ) out of prison. The pact was sealed with the maxim, why should we run to the yankees with evidence to disrupt society, we are independent now. They have you all chasing your tails, we know there's evidence, when it comes out this minister or one of the opposition will do jail time. It will never happen, whatever bullets they have will stay in Congress Place or Freedom House. |

I doubt the footage can be released without endangering the lives of those who cooperated with the police in aquiring said footage. If you folks believe that the death of Fineman and Skinny signals the end of the criminal gangs in Guyana, you are in for a shock. The head that leads these gangs is still alive, even if in prison at the moment. The masters who instruct the head will soon have another ex-soldier to rally the troops to wreak more destruction on Guyana. There taste for blood was only further tantalized by Bartica and Lusignan.

As long as the PNC bosses, Hinkson, Corbin are alive the footage can not be released. You fools can not accept that the massacres were orchestrated by those in the PNC. |

The real bosses are in the OP and Freedom house. The Americans have evidence that Rohee and Greene are drug dealers, they have none on the PNC. Jagdeo are just using the PNC as a convenient scapegoat to keep dumbasses like you swallowing their lies. |

I think Roger Khan may have several tapes on Jagdeo in which his lawyers might release for him to get an early release! |
