Andre HAYNES is a senior member of the AFC and guess what is the other cap he holds, he is also the Assistant editor at Stabroek News. which now makes sense why the AFC has been getting so much coverage in the SN while simultaneously there has been an increase in bashing the Government.
The Stabroek News has been one of the few advocates for executive power sharing without any period of building genuine trust. Having recognized that its position on executive power sharing was prematurely made, the Stabroek News has now presented the AFC as an alternative to the current political dispensation. This is not strange given its obvious editorial preferences.

The SN is vehemently opposed to the Government and therefore seeks to shut out the views of the Government in its pages, thereby presenting a skewed image of the reality. On the other hand being in bed with the AFC who now have free access to SN's pages they have launched an anti Government campaign in anticipation of the 2011 elections.

The Guyanese people are the sole decider as to which party gets into power in the next election. Guyanese of all races are satisfied by the excellent performance of the PPP and that is why come next election we will see them voting them back into office. Any bets???

It is clear that with the presence of Haynes an anti-government political agenda, has been further strengthened regardless of what they may try to say to the contrary.
Their news coverage and reportage are very unbalanced and they play up any issue, always giving a pro-AFC anti-government slant and actually cover up or ignore anything that is against the opposition. For example when it was made known that executives of the AFC are involved in narco dealers they have chosen to stay silent.

There has always been an anti-PPP sentiment resounding in the SN. The reason being that the late owner himself come from an elitist background was by nature opposed to the whole concept of the working class, Freddie himself lambasted the late owner and the current administrator for their class and racial bias, so it makes sense then that they have aligned themselves with the Bourgeoisie party... the AFC and have chosen remain of the Government.

Stabroek news should report the news factually and without bias. Their reports are engrossed with a political slant that is glaringly anti Government.

Should we examine the party membership of the staff of the chronicle and similarly infer the bias of the paper?

The staff at the chronicle are by and large apolitical, the difference between the Chronicle and the rest of the print media is factual reporting. The Chronicle continues to report on the facts while the rest based their reports on their own opinions as opposed to what actually took place.
