ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin introduced herself to the world Wednesday by calling herself a "hockey mom" and then asking what the difference was between a hockey mom and a pit bull.
Sarah Palin ripped Barack Obama and said she's ready for the "challenge of a tough fight." "Lipstick," the Republican vice-presidential nominee said. She promptly went on to prove the point, tearing into Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama as two-faced, inexperienced and intoxicated by the sound of his own voice. "This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting and never use the word 'victory' except when he's talking about his own campaign," she said. She slammed Obama for "saying one thing in Scranton and another in San Francisco," argued that he had written two memoirs but never authored a major piece of legislation and asked what he would do "when those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot," a reference to the stage where Obama gave his acceptance speech last week. Watch Palin attack Obama » Thousands of delegates at the party conference roared their approval at Palin's speech, bursting into chants of "Sarah! Sarah!" and "Zero! Zero," the amount of executive experience Republicans say Obama has accumulated. "I think Sarah Palin can do a one-two punch better than Muhammad Ali," Kansas state senator Karin Brownlee said after the speech. "And I think she delivered it just square on the opponents' face. I think she has energized the Republican Party like we haven't seen in a long time." |

Baseman, It is normal concention Stuff. dat woman is a FAKE. She was selling snakeoil to the republicans. The key to November is how the racist south will vote. Are they going to vote for better Jobs or are they going to Vote for someone who tells them he will kick Iran's Ass? We will see.

Only the Republicans would consider taking thousands of lives, for no real cause, victory? The theme of the speeches last light was “attack Obama.†Did we hear anything of what the Repubs will do in office? Nope! Did Rudy mention how complicit he was when 911 occurred? He had his Emergency Management Office in the WTC! This was after the WTC was bombed in 1993! |

Give the man some credit. He only mentioned September 11th once. Usually, he mentions it in every sentence. |

All the speeches were 'Attack Obama.' Giuliani thoroughly disgusted me. I did think Huckabee was good although he too managed to get a few digs in. |

Raymond, you hit the nail on the head, the speech is all about her, no substance whatsoever. I will be voting OBAMA/Biden |

She read a well written attack speech quite well. Let's see how she does on the stump when she will not always have a prepared text and controlled atmosphere. Let's also see how she does in her debate with Biden. I suspect she will be eaten alive.

Biden praised her and said she would be a formidable opponent.
He also said that he did not hear anything from her about the middle class, health care, college assistance, job growth etc.... |

Same sentiment here. I got tired of the petty trash talking. One commentator quoted from Lincoln (I think), that "People who like that sort of speech will find that this is the sort of speech they like". It summarized it for me completely because Lee Atwater and Karl Rove came instantly to mind. The Republican is in their usual full mudslinging and smear mode. |

lost of folks actually pleased with her speech. Most media give her favorable ratings on the speech. We looked at it differently based on our corners. Her speech is probably the best political one this year with Bill Clinton DNC speech as the second best. Political speech are not meant to be what we are looking for ...... its usually a sale pitch during this season. Right now Obama need to get some momentum back .... he is falling in the polls. And if we are going to use that as a barometer then it is not close as everyone expected earlier. No one give McCain a chance against Obama ... now it very close. |

With all that Romney had to say at the podium, when he was speaking to Andrea Mitchell and brought up the comment that Biden made that Obama is not ready to be president, she reminded him that he also said things about McCain. At that time, his lips was sealed shut. Suddenly he was speechless. |

her speech was red meat for the political piranhas. Unfortunately since she deem her self the pitbull of this campaign, she will have to handle what comes down the pike. |

I guess she had to justify her selection as vp ..... she still have a lot to prove and many questions to answer. Its a long season from here on. We will see her toughness and how she will handle the pressure. |

he got that bounce because he was coming off a long battle with Hillary...those things never last...McCain had wrapped up the nomination a long time, he was out of the news most of the time while Obama and Hillary dominated the headlines. Once the primary was over and the real race started, it was expected McCain will catch up... This is the first time Obama has reached 50% |

She exhibited good, if demonic strategy. Obama is now in the situation where he CANNOT really fight back nastily...it would be sexist etc...so he has to act nice while she rips into him...also, it shields her from people being too nasty..unless of course, Biden wants to deal with her...
