I'm not sure this time around I am worried or fearful about the outcome of the PNC marches. Look, let's be honest, if Jagdeo and company had been doing right by Indians and blacks, there would be no need for marches. Jagdeo and company have been looking after themselves alone. Burnham died and the PNC is like a ship without a sail on a boisterous sea. Jagan died and the PPP is like an aeroplane 33000 feet in the air flying on a wing and a prayer. May the plane crash into the ship on the sea and all aboard the two drown. Then the country can enjoy peace and live happily ever after.

I say we hold a national referendum and ask the British to re-colonize Guyana. After all, over 600,000 Guyanese living abroad, with the bulk in America, Britain and Canada - All WHITE MAN COUNTRIES! And the majority of that figure are Indians who are still leaving Guyana despite the PPP being in power for 15 years!
What was the point of our leaders, Jagan and Burnham, running the white people out of Guyana in 1966 only to watch Guyanese (Indians and blacks) turn and run from Guyana behind the white man? Guyanese running from the East and West Bank but the White man laughing all the way to the World Bank where he's got money earned from the sweat of countries like Guyana. Something is wrong when we consider that Janet Jagan, a white American, left America and went to Guyana in the forties to help Cheddi end colonialism (get rid of white people), and now her party is in power, its support base (Indians) is running to the same country from which Janet came. Reverse migration? And Janet say America bad, bad, bad! How can America be so bad that Indian Guyanese running here are making it big time in America while Janet holed up in Freedom House on Robb Street watching Jagdeo make the white people look like angels, saving fleeing Guyanese Indians? |

Maybe you should first analyse whether the white man country is gaining or losing by this acquisition of talent. |

Terry, Analyse this! The white man's country is gaining by acquiring the talents from developing or underdeveloped countries. There is such a great shortage of technical skills in North America that the Third World has become the source of such a supply. Twenty-five years ago a Guyanese friend visiting New York went into an immigration lawyer to see what steps must be taken to get a green card. The lawyer reportedly told him he can either get a good faith marriage or if he knew how to weld, the lawyer could hook him up right away with both a job and have the employer sponsor him with the lawyer's help. THE COUNTRY HAS A SHORTAGE OF WELDERS AND THE THIRD WORLD HAS AN ABUNDANCE OF THEM! Twenty years ago in Guyana, I was into media making more money than my brother, a fabricator-welder. In North America, an unqualified but experienced journalist starts off at 30,000 a year. An experienced unionized fabricator-welder starts off @$5 - $50 an hour. My brother earns $50 an hour. Go figure! Electricians, auto and diesel mechanics, electronic technicians, draftsmen, joiners, pipefitters, machinists, plumbers and carpenters are people who are badly in demand and can rake in in excess of 100K a year if they become state certified. Twenty years ago, the in-job up north was nursing. Nursing paid nothing at Georgetown Hospital, but an RN in Guyana with 15 years experience who came to North America and passed the state certificate could earn upward of $40US an hour. Wanna know why so many Guyanese who never really cared about people are now nurses in America? Not because they care about people, bro, but they care about the big bucks! Fifteen years ago, New York City Department of Education sent down recruiters to Jamaica and Barbados to recruit West Indian teachers. A batch of Guyanese teachers went for interviews and today they are still teaching here! DOE even sent them to school to get their Masters Degree and other follow-up courses. Foreigners are seriously helping keep America afloat! America's schools are not turning out graduates who want to get into these fields and that is why foreigners with technical skills are doing so well once they land here. And North America is loving it! Something is wrong with our local political leaders who can't see past their freaking noses! |

You know you all Guyanese amuse me. Why do you think the UK will want to recolonize an impoverished ation when they spent so much time trying to get their former colonies to go along about their business. |
