GDF says helicopters are
‘multi mission’
- alarmed, deeply concerned about criticisms
ARMY chief, Commodore Gary Best, yesterday described the two helicopters acquired for use in the fight against crime as “multi-mission” in function as opposed to their detractors, whom he labelled “acid critics”.
“We now have two helicopters capable of conducting law enforcement operations and search and rescue,” Best told reporters at Army headquarters, Camp Ayangana, Georgetown.
The Army chief said the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) was alarmed and deeply concerned about the apparent. ...read more

Nehru, by now you should know better than to believe this kiss-ass incompetent Best. Remember how he did promise to reign fire and brimstone to capture Fine Man after one of his soldiers was killed in Buxton....Then when Fine Man threw down the gauntlet he retired to a corner. Only now is he coming out with some more empty talk.

What I find troubling in the latest article is that the chopper can not do night flying without a source of light below on the ground. This leads me to believe that they don't have instruments on board to identify the ground terrain. Most of the robberies and murders occur at night, looks like they expect the killers to provide lighting on the ground.
It is very disappointing that our leaders take a position and still hold on to those positions because of pride even in the face of glaring evidenct to the error of their ways.

I've flown at night in some old Russian army MIG choppers that lack night instruments but the pilots wore infra-red vision eqip. helmets.
I pity the fool

- The helicopter can't fly at night.
- It can be shot down with an AK47.
- It can squeeze 4 passengers
- No space to rescue an injured person

The GDF has a much larger and versatile helicopter is rottening in Tacama. It cost less to repair than the cost of these helicopters

The world is either laughing at our silly quarrels or totally oblivious to it. Some years ago the US ambassador couldn't held back a laugh while commenting on an agricultural project in Guyana. Guyanese people are very dumb when it comes to organizing and getting things done.
