A truly responsible government would have responded by giving its version of the facts and then let the public judge for themselves between what it has put out and that which the journalist has put out. At the end of the day, both government and media houses rely on credibility to gain the public's trust and confidence and support. But when the government sinks to this low level of banning a journalist in the name of the journalist being disrespectful when this has not been proven, then government is proving it has an ulterior motive. So far no other media house, whether from the region or at home, has come forward to corroborate either the government or the journalist's version of the events. One thing is sure: Jagdeo takes everything personally. It fits right in with his micromanaging style. It's all about the Mighty Jagabat! |

Burnham was a bright man. I would think ignoring this sort of little stuff would be the way to go. There's a saying that the calibre of your enemies determines your calibre. |

Nehru, the fact that you would not impose such a ban tells me your discomfort with this decision. |

Ireton, We are not aware of all the situations. I am not that discomfort with what happened. I believe that Mosely was after the president for a long time and the pres finally decided that enough is enough. The fact is that Mosely is simply not allowed to visit the OP, this will have no negative impact on capital news unless they have only one reporter.

Jagdeo is pissed because he goes overseas and tell lies and come back home and tell lies to the people home. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth and in Moseley report he provided excerps to back up what he was reporting on and Jagdeo went nuts.
Like that time when he came to New York during the Roger Khan taping of Felix and told his supporters in New York that he will deal with Felix and when he went back home and attended the Officers conference he said something totally different. The man is the biggest two faced liar on planet earth! He is King Perception. You can't get away with perception when you have someone like Moseley who have concrete evidence of exactly what went down. What is little sissy that boy Jagdeo is! |

CHIEF HOW U KNOW BOUT THIS [....] ....... LIKE YOU OPEN BOOK.....AND PEEP HE RUNNINGS.....Whatever U did you were 100 percent correct.... This message has been edited. If you ever read Animal Farm you will recognize Nehru as one of the sheep. Incapable of critical thought and blindly supportive of the elite despite scant benefits for himself. |

And he shows this by blocking access to media personalities from being able to query news Offce of the President (vital in a nation where the Presidnet micro manages to the extent that he even determines which cleaner is hired or fired). He does this by banning media outlets when they say things he doenst like. He does this by starving media outlets of ad revenues knowing full well that govt is the largest generator of such in Guyana. Soembody had better tell Jagdeo that he is a servant of the people, not their master and the people of Guyana via their political representatives and the media have a right to access to the goings on at the Office of the President, as well as to query such actions. |

Heavy anti-government bias
When the President's meeting with Guyanese in Antigua was shown on NCN Channel 11, 6 O’clock News, it was clear that he was very popular with the crowd and kept receiving loud and regular cheers, so that at times, he had to wait on the cheers to die down before he could resume speaking. I, along with others, then watched Capitol News on Channel 7, which I have come to regard as the Roger Khan channel, as so much is broadcast about him and when the part came about the President's meeting in Antigua, I told those watching, " look, you're going to see something completely different now" because we have all become aware of this newscast's anti-government bias, and so it was. They showed two speakers, who could hardly be heard, so that they had to raise their voices, because they were shouted down by the other participants. What Capitol News showed made you wonder if it was the same meeting. No one can doubt the anti-government bias of this newscast, as well as that of the Guyana Press Association, given their stance and record over the years. The instances are too numerous to mention. JOHN Sa SILVA ======================= So-called champions of press freedom The PNC officials before 1992, should be charged with crimes against humanity. Until charges are brought against those who looted, burnt, raped, rigged votes, bribed and threatened citizens to vote PNC or else, as long they remain free to do so again, and without any doubt they and their disciples will again be free to do. We also have a new crop of so-called champions of press freedom who mushroomed and are now dancing to the piper’s tune. These people will continue to subvert the Government under the name of freedom of the press and democracy. I am convinced that some of the hierarchy of the PNC and Trade union leaders have their secret agenda to get rid of the PPP by civil disobedience or civil unrest to destabilise the country to achieve their ends. For those narrow minded people, they must know that the international community have them in their sights, especially the US, UK and the European community. Guyana must be stable for progress, and not discord. CECIL SAWH |

You should also give that advise to Bush, Clintons, Obama, Blair, etc. It seems they all need to "grow up" to your standard of "adulthood". |

For all of you who want Jagdeo to be forcibly removed from office, remember when Burnham used to walk all over you all and you used to bear it and like it. Now you want the leader who was freely elected to be removed undemocratically removed. That wont happen.
