GEORGETOWN - President Da-Rat Jack-de-Ho has been a "total failure" in everything from the economy to the war against criminals to media policy, House Speaker Rifle Rumcanrun said yesterday. In an interview on PIS'N, the 2011 PIP candidate was asked to respond to a video of the president criticizing the media for only reporting what he deemed 'negatives' without focussing more on a single government achievement: two copters to fight crimes.

Rumcanan shot back in unusually personal terms. "You know, God bless him, bless his heart, president of the Guyana, a total failure, losing all credibility with the Guyanese people on the economy, on the fight against criminals, on the media, you name the subject," Rumcanrun replied. He then tsk-tsked Jack-de-Ho for "challenging the media when we are trying to sweep up after his mess over and over and over again."

...Meanwhile

THE Guyana Watch Inc Medical/Dental Team will be arriving in Guyana today for its 16th Annual Medical Outreach Programme. Guyana Watch is a New York-based Guyanese organization that serves as a political front for the PPP, raising finances for the party and providing logistical support for PPP officials who visit New York to explain why the government is failing and still needs moral and financial support from the disillusioned Indian Guyanese community in Queens.

The team consists of 13 medical doctors in various fields of specialisation, a dentist, two pharmacists and 18 support staff, and will be here until July 27.

In a press release, the New York-based Guyana Watch Inc. said the team is expected to see over 3,500 patients, with clinics across the country providing over US$350,000 in medication along with medical/health counselling. In return for their long standing political support of the PPP, among the leaders of Guyana Watch are New York-based Guyanese businessmen who paid down 3 million US dollars for Guyana Stores Limited, with an outstanding 3 million US dollars. The matter has been sent to the court where it has been languishing for want of prosecution.

In 2007, the Guyana Watch team saw 3025 patients providing over US$275,000 in medication, sent four children for heart surgery in the United States, assisted four patients for kidney transplants in India and gave two four-year scholarships to students of the University of Guyana.

The Guyana Watch Inc also financially assisted several others who required overseas medical interventions. The Guyana Watch Inc said it will assist at least 20 to 30 children for heart surgeries during 2008/2009.

The schedules for clinics are as follows: Patients suffering with diabetes are advised to fast the night before to enable the doctors to get the correct reading of their blood sugar.

With the PPP, you don't get something for nothing. Ask Guyana Watch. Ask Buddy's. Ask Roger Khan. Ask Queens II Investors. Ask the President's 'new breed of investors' in Guyana.
