Port Mourant has quite a few sub divisions:
Bound Yard - where the indentured laborers were "bound" to live. Free Yard - where the "free" laborers lived. Portuguese Quarter - self explanatory Kaffrey Back - where the African Guyanese predominated Babu John - where Cheddi Jagan was cremated. The correct name is Babu Jahan.
