Canje have a famous tree like that too. Story goes that it bleeds if they try to cut it and dutchman ghost lives there. Lot of people claim to see the ghost. I does walk clear away from the tree Big Grin Big Grin

VG..the only travel i did up to high sch was onEsseq coast and west coast dem up to CI

but my job took me all over the country..every month for 8 yrs i went to several places because i wrked with th e Public Health clinic sponsored by PAHO/WHO and min of Health!

yes but it fell 1 nite during heavy rainfall..
the entire middle was HOLLOW!

That "haunted" tree that splits the road is at Perserverance....Airy Hall is in the general vicinity....

The original owners of that plantation were Portuguese....some of their descendants still reside their.....

My mom and dad experience Dutchman and Ghost in their days - can't say that i have - i think the ghosts got too old and retired - at least that's what one of them said to my grandfather who was apparently possessed by these "Dutchman".

i was traveling on way to berbice themorn after it fell..it was still across the road..
that portion of road was split int 2 - 1 way street..

i didnt know
i left Gy in 90 and up to that time all that was left was the lower part of trunk..

gurl, i get this 'yearning' when i see peeps talking about all the places they have visited in GY.

...i forgot all about the vertigo since i seem to have it under control right now Big Grin.
but i am very very scared of visiting GY when i read and hear about the crime there.
who can blame me though after living 32yrs in good old safe small town canada!!

VG, while crime is a reality it’s not as big as it’s hyped up to be…if you don’t flaunt yourself you’ll be pretty safe….

As far as I recall the haunted tree is still there…y’all believe in them Dutchman stuff…we should start a jumbie story thread…

when we werelil kids we were scared to open the dutch bottles we found by the riverside..

the other thing was that u were not supposed to pee or # 2 by a certain tree..dem used to say dutchman guh hold yuh..
once i rem a young man got sick after doing that in the backdam and everybody said is because he did it by this tree..
cant remember the name of the tree though '

kumaka...one of the guys on Political once wrote that the tree gives off a fume which can lead to fainting spells thus the jhumbie notion
