As Dara S went about selling his jhaaray claat, his first victim ... ah mean cusstama, was a woman. After collecting, he asked Sister, what's the name of this place. She promtly replied, "Sister". His next prey was a guy. He asked him, what's the name of this place, brother. The guy replied, "Brother". His third victim was another another guy. Since his other two victims responded by the way he addressed them, he decided to address this guy as "friend".

What's the name of this village and where are they all located? Big Grin Big Grin

These villages are on the East Bank of the Berbice River...after New Amstersdam/Stanleytown etc.

Yes, I attended BHS but there was no Asad at that time.

Mahdia is a small community in the Potaro-Siparuni region of Guyana, located at 5°16′0″N, 59°8′60″W, at an altitude of 415 m (1364 ft). Commerce is centred around the area's gold and diamond mining operations. As such it responds to and is affected by the economic booms and busts.

The population of Mahdia (c. 500) is made up of three groups. The Patamonas are an indigenous Amerindian tribe. The Coastlanders are residents from elsewhere in Guyana who have moved to the Madhia area. The Islanders are the immigrants and their descendants from certain Caribbean Islands, particularly, St Lucia and Dominica. Within recent times there has been an influx of a group that is referred to as “foreigners” by the other residents of the area.

Madhia is a regional administrative center. The community has a police station, and schools that provide nursery and primary education. Madhia has a commercial sector which includes dry goods shops, boutiques, a fuel station, two hotels and a brothel. The area is also serviced by several trucks from the coast. These trucks travel to Madhia several times each week and sell vegetables, groceries and other supplies. There is a well in the area which is not functional. Residents consequently collect rainwater for domestic use.

Mahdia is accessible by road from Bartica, the Konawaruk Road (links Linden to Mabura) and from the capital, Georgetown, via a pontoon crossing on the Essequibo River at Mango Landing. Mahdia has a landing strip (Airport Code MHA) for small planes.

Hyde Park is a community in the Demerara-Mahaica Region of Guyana. It stands on the right bank of the Demerara River, at two metres above sea level, about 40 km upstream from the river's mouth, and Georgetown. Cheddi Jagan International Airport, is nearby.

Is this true? I thought Hyde Park was around the DeHoop/Mahaicony area...

Very good topic.

I have historical maps which list all of the villages, towns, cities, etc., starting from the coastline from Berbice to Essequibo and onwards for the interior.

Amber;

These I have are historical and detailed, for my use when I was working in Guyana as a Specialist Engineer.

Yours, of course, is up-to-date.

I will post the names from the maps I have and we eventually will see/know how much has changed.

dont worry about the repeats, i think women on the whole likes a man who repeats himself...(especially, if the word is "yes dear"..

Indeed, it is booming here ... in some places, the price of houses have increased by more than 58% over the past year.
