The Churches in San Diego, as well as the Islamic Center of San Diego have opened their doors to refugees from the wildfires. The numbers are reaching epic proportions. The churhces and the Islamic center are not asking these people for $..even though the drain on their budgets must be horrendous.
If you can find it within your financial ability to donate, please do so. If you need addresses of places for donation, I shall be happy to post.
For Muslims: the Islamic Center in the heart of the refugee area, and the administrators are all good people who spend tens of thousands of dollars on charity. Even when I phoned, they were surprised that I would offer, even though they admitted that their finances wuold be depleted. YOur assistance would be much appreciated. Their particulars are on line. islamic center of san diego. If you wish that a lump sum should be given to them, then by all means endorse your check to them FOR DEPOSIT ONLY, and send it to me..I shall group it with some others I hope to round up. I will not accept cash or make donations for reimbursement later. Sorry...but dara don't play that.

Presidents signs disaster declaration for San Diego
Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said today that a federal disaster declaration has been signed by President Bush clearing the way for assistance to make its way to San Diego.

No big thing. It is just that the mosque, as are all the churches, overwhelmed...and that great big idiot arnold is talking about what people need to do. They don't need to be told what to do..they know. They just need help.
