Why would an analogy like "snow" be used in a hot, desert country?
This seems to be a European idiom, written by a person who lived in a country of winters. Was the bible hijacked by Europeans?

Bhai: dem bhais, Mark & Company, writing in a greco-roman milieu were keenly aware of snow. Plus don't forget that in Syria, Iraq (all referred to in bible language as "syria") there are snow-capped mountains.
Don't forget the famous "sherbet" is an arab invention....
