Chief: i gotta story for you. From the sufis.
A murid journeyed long and far to meet a shaykh of whom he had heard so much. Goes in. The shaykh is not, in the murid's estimation, the man about whom he had heard so much. So after observing him for a while by pretending to do as he asked, the murid left and went to another shaykh who was only saying bad things about shaykh 1. Whereupon the Devil appeared before shaykh 1 and said "I stole one from you." Shaykh 1 replied 'no you did not. I never had him. He was yours from the beginning." Nuff said. |

That question presupposes God is intelligent. Which, according to the normative interpretation, God is not. For God will chastise the whole world if it does not go to him through a Son, but will allow the slaughter of millions of people simply because they are not his "chosen" ones. Plus God is a cheat..He tells us his son died, but then brings the son back to life. How can I relate to such a god?
