I am expecting charitable donations to the following
1. Dara Shikoh's Home for libidinous nuns 2. Dara Shikoh's Trust for Brown MEn wishing to own BMW's 3. Dara Shikoh's Dharam Sala (only food items accepted, specific emphasis on pachownie). |

Oh yes, a smile is contagious and has the power to disarm the meanest of the mean spirited. It has the ability to soothe and calm...it can give us hope...it can be the beginning of a lifelong friendship. A smile is indeed charity; an intangible gift that can bring happiness to us. |

It is still a contradiction because in the case of Muslims' actions, they somewhat do it for Allah's blessings. So they are doing it with expectations of something in return whether implied or expressed. But don't tell Muslims that because they will strongly deny it. :))

not all muslims deny this...my pak coworker admitted to it and even said that she only gives what is required of her (as if i had not observed that already). She also said that the prayers are for forgiveness (i guess she has lots to forgive) ...okay i am being silly and grinning... TO EACH HIS OWN! I does give when i feel like, if i feel like and how i feel like...i do not like stipulations. Sometimes i give when i do not even have spare...if the 'cause' touches my soul then i make spare. 26 yrs ago, i went to a Christian church for a few wks...associates were trying to convert me...they wwere almost successful...until they esplained to me that i had to commit to giving 10% of my income... that day i decided that my parents were the only GOD I am willing to give 10 or more % of my pay towards.... |

Giving comes naturally. When we are approached with the opportunity to give, we do so immediately. The moment we allow our head to decide if we should give or not, we have defeated our virtue even though the effect to the recipient may still be accomplished.
The best way that I can explain this is if we begin debating in our minds or with the seeker, we begin to justify our actions and that in my opinion takes away from the purity of the action of giving. |

Well your giving problems are settled. Dara is here and anybody who want to give sirnee, pachownie, dhall puri, paratha, alloo choka, same curry, bara and alloo balls are directed to send the same to my convent WITHOUT ANY EXPECTATION OF REWARD IN THIS LIFE. I will put in a good word for alyouse with Big G.

paks are cheapos. a few years ago I was funding a medical mission to Guyana and I asked a pak to donate $20. The man told me he already paid out his zakaat and refused to contribute a measly $20. |

Some folks have a hard time giving because they are not "sure" where the money or other form of donation is going. I believe that once the charitable donation leaves your hands, you ought have faith that it will go where it is most needed.
