Now, now, it's not polite to refer to someone as a "religious nut". Is there a source? As SM said, where is the proof that it is NOT true. I'm curious as to the origin of the "finger licking" statements. If the source is not valid, then why was it posted? To pique people's interest? To get a "rise" out of some? To share humor?

Anyone who would post nonsense such as this to justify an ancient practice (which he himself still follows) by a "prophet" should be classified as a "religious nut". You don't ask someone to post evidence that something is not true, it is not logical. The burden of proof lies with the person who is posting this to prove its accuracy, so you should ask the crazy one who posted it to supply the proof from his "medical science" that it IS true. Unfortunately, there is none. Only the loonie who posted it would know what his intentions were. Here is the source of this garbage. The burden of proof is on Supermike to cite the source for his statement on "medical science". If you make a statement, you have to back it up. Now when you say that it is from 'medical science" you have to cite the source of that "medical science". Andre don't have to prove that it doesn't exist.
Islam also teaches us that cleanliness is half of faith. We are constantly taught to wash our hands. If the objective was to pick up some germs on the way, why are we so strongly taught to wash our hands. Also, the Qur'an states that "Allah loves those who have a keenness for cleanliness". So why are we contradicting the Qur'an? |

If the germs which cause such a complaint are present in your food, then you will get it, whether you lick your fingers or not. [People who have food which they no longer need or require should give it away to those who are in need of it. They should not throw it in the dustbin. That is the least they could do by way of thanking Allah for His grace and giving them abundance.] |
