I was on de plane. This lady starts talking to me. Starts spouting off about Islam. I let her go. She says "in egypt, do you know you can' t be christian." Rather than confront her, I was just saying "really?". Whereupon a white guy could not stand it and said "I have been there. And I received more honor there as a christian. Do you know there is a coptic pope there? blah blah blah.
I gotta give it to the lady though..she just calmly said "I did not know that." I then informed her that tariq azis of iraq is christian, that the PFFLP was a christian organiation, that suha arafat is christian...that hanan ashrawi is christian. Poor lady did not know that either. And of course did not know that Lebanon has a large christian population.

she must be American. We Canadians like to make fun of illiterate Americans.

problem is the such illiteracy is not restricted to the masses...look at dubya.

Actually, I was wondering when she would call security to report me for just reading a book that had some arabic terms. After the ride, she wuz trying to make eye contact with me (friendly), but i just avoided it.
