Are we children of God?
Are we matter?
Are we antimatter?
Are we just an illusion......

We are a projection of what goes on in our minds.

Considering there are definitive answers should we perpetually ponder these questions or just enjoy being?

SupaM: Have you ever read about the mystic rabia? She had a strange, yet magnificent view of Big G.
God..she believed G should be worshipped just for love of G, not for fear of hell or aspirations towards heaven. When u check out the actual root meaning of "islam" is does not have to do with submission (that is istislaam), but with seeking perfection. Interesting if one wants to compare it with hindu atman and moksha.

Obsessive love is worship.
Rabia never married. Once she refused a marriage proposal because she said she never had room in her heart for any other love beside Allah's

there are answers but none are definitive to the point of not an iota of doubt.

Even science has an uncertainty principle, however, the deductions based on science seem more precise, than any other explanation or theories.

what are the definitive answers that you know of.

as far a pondering..sure why not..it is a public forum and if you are tired of the discussion(s) you need not partake :)

Wasn't this the dream about the prophet? Of course, one has to separate between hagiography and actual history...and Rabia's place in either is strange...she did exist..she was mystic..but to what extent all that is attributed to her is true..that is problematic. but her image does a good denouncing of the literalists...

Never read anywhere that Rabia Al Basri dreamt the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam). Maybe you are getting mixed up with the dream her father had when she was born. The stories about her are a deep source of spiritual inspiration to many. For a human being to have been like her is out of this world. One of her famous quotes, "I will not serve God like a labourer, in expectation of my wages".

In my opinion, her pure painted image makes it seem kind of made up.

Ksazma, you must have done some research on Rabia Al Basri, enlighten us please on your discovery and what made you come up with your opinion.

nope..i am quite sure..teh tale is that the prophet came to her in a dream and proposed marriage...and her answer was that she could love none but god...the 'in between' the lines reading is quite illustrative of the power and polemic between the mystics and the literalists.
