=====================*
Demonstration and Parade for Preservation of Religions of the World during Papal Visit to United Nations & Yankee Stadium*

*Visit: http://protectreligions.org *(professionally created website)**

*Context: *

Religion is the one of the most potent forces shaping world affairs. This has always been the case, but it is particularly true right now. Much of the charity as well as the strife in the world today is inspired by religion.

When religion can be such a force for love, compassion and spirituality, why is it also such a cause of strife and war? One specific aspect of some religions is the root cause of the problems: exclusive truth claims which teach that other religions are false and have to be eradicated through conversion and even killings.

Rabbi Harold Kushner summarized the "Only my religion is right" phenomenon
as:

*"There's a sense that in order for me to be right, everyone who disagrees with me is wrong. It makes religious interfaith cooperation more difficult. If I believe that, I have to believe that other people's religions are worthless, invalid." *

*"You have to understand that religion is not about getting information about God. Religion is about community. The primary purpose is not to get us to heaven but to put us in touch with other people. I can have fierce loyalty to my family without denigrating other people's family. I can have fierce loyalty to my own religion without denigrating other people's religion. In the same way, my neighbor can say that his wife is the most wonderful woman in the world. I can take that as a statement of love, not fact." *

Diversity is the rule of the creation. Only in diversity can the human mind survive. Such diverse religions as the Hinduism, Zoroastrians, the Baha'i, Gnostics, Romuva, Druids, Slavic and Wiccans, the indigenous religions of Africa, Americas and Australia; Buddhism and the ancient and subtle I-Kuan Tao, all are faces of a grand prism expressing their understanding of creator and his creation that unites every human being, ay every creature and the creation itself.

But a great amount of this diversity was destroyed and continues to be destroyed by religions professing exclusive access to the mind of God and labeling all other spiritual traditions as evil. It is natural to have greements and disagreements among religious philosophies, a very few ggressive religious groups express their intolerance to the extent of destroying other religions in order to establish their exclusivist truth
claims beliefs. The degree of violence and hate perpetrated by such religions during last two centuries has been colossal in the history of mankind. *Mahatma Gandhi called the religious conversions conducted by missionaries who convert and spread hate as the deadliest poison that ever sapped the fountain of truth.***

During World Congress for Preservation of Religious Diversity in 2001, Swami
Dayananda Saraswati said that the ancient religions of the world have become like endangered species. However, he said, unlike the endangered species, we can confer and therefore come together to find out ways and means to see that diverse religious traditions are saved. Conferences held by organizations such as ICCSUS, World Congress of Ethnic Religions (WCER) are helping to bring together traditions across the world. The Papal visit to United Nations provides the cultures of the world a great opportunity to bring international attention to the threat of religious exclusivism and its consequences for the world religions and humanity.

*What is being planned?* The plan is to do a Demonstration and a Parade during Pope's visit to UN on April 18th (10AM - 1PM) honoring native cultures of the world and highlighting each culture that was destroyed and the atrocities committed. The parade will include banners, posters and dramatizations, prayers. The parade will start at United Nations and will proceed through the middle of Manhattan in New York City and end at Mahatma Gandhi Statue at Union Square. We also plan to meet United Nations Secretary General to present our case. The message is not against
Christianity, but against the practice of intolerance under the mask of exclusive faith claim which happens to be the root cause. We plan to highlight the works of eminent thinkers such as Mahatma Gandhi who stood against religions conversions and intolerance. Mahatma Gandhi, who is greatly revered in the West stood for brotherhood among religions. (Note: Similar demonstration and parade will also be held in front of Yankee Stadium, New York on April 20th, 1PM-4PM).

*Why is this important?* History showed to us that change never happens by
itself. It requires a collective and determined action to bring about that change. Today, most conversions activities are planned, executed and supported by funds from the West, particularly the United States. Many times they are contributed by unwitting church goers who have little idea as to what their contributions are causing. The Roman Catholic Church along with various Protestant and charismatic groups are the prime movers of the global conversion enterprise. Media management by the Church promotes the image that missionary activity simply is spreading a gospel of love and compassionto the unfortunate peoples of the world. There is no public voice for the victim's story.

*Why now? *The pope's visit to UN attracts worldwide attention, and we plan to use this occasion to present the victim's side of the effects of missionary activity. Through this demonstration and parade, we plan to bring international attention to the relentless onslaught of religious conversion activity, what it has done and continues to do to the cultures of the world. Our goal is to create a counter discussion to the whole missionary activity, to raise awareness that this activity has a dark side.

*Who is organizing this activity?* The initiative to hold a demonstration and parade was started by a small group of individuals representing various native cultures. The word spread around the world through internet which resulted in tremendous response from various native culture groups around the world. This is sponsored by 'World Congress of Ethnic Religions'.

*What you can do?*

*Join Demo/Parade: * We earnestly request the various cultures of the world to take part in the Demonstration and Parade to present their case. This is a rare and unique opportunity that should not be missed because it gives exposure to World community the need for preserving all the cultures of the World. *Register at* http://protectreligions.org

*Endorse us:* We request every organization that support this cause to endorse this event for preserving cultures by sending email to protectreligions@gmail.com. Include the name of your Organization name along with a comment on the reasons why your organization support this activity. Endorsement can also be done at website
http://protectreligions.org.

*Sign Petition: * Sign Petition to United Nations Secretary General at
http://protectreligions.org. Contact members of your organization and friends to do the same.

*What arrangements are made?** *

For those attending from outside NY area such as from out of state or country any required hosting and transportation arrangements can be made upon prior communication to protectreligions@gmail.com .

Remind the Pope of the Gao Inquisition. When will the Church apoligize?

http://www.christianaggression.org/item_display.php?typ...TICLES&id=1111142225

The Goan inquisition is regarded by all contemporary portrayals as the most violent inquisition ever executed by the Portuguese Catholic Church. It lasted from 1560 to 1812. The inquisition was set as a tribunal, headed by a judge, sent to Goa from Portugal and was assisted by two judicial henchmen. The judge was answerable to no one except to Lisbon and handed down punishments as he saw fit. The Inquisition Laws filled 230 pages and the palace where the Inquisition was conducted was known as the Big House and the Inquisition proceedings were always conducted behind closed shutters and closed doors. The screams of agony of the culprits (men, women, and children) could be heard in the streets, in the stillness of the night, as they were brutally interrogated, flogged, and slowly dismembered in front of their relatives. Eyelids were sliced off and extremities were amputated carefully, a person could remain conscious even though the only thing that remained was his torso and a head.

Chief, when you will join us to protest against the same nasty deed your people are committing?

Indonesian Christians tricked
into forced Muslim conversion
___By Brittany Jarvis
___SBC International Mission Board
___AMBON, Indonesia (BP)-- "My scar healed quite fast, but the sad, humiliated feeling stayed. I feel like I'm no longer complete, both as a person and a woman."
___That is the testimony of Christina Sagat, a 32-year-old Christian from Kasiui,
Indonesia, who endured genital mutilation by her Muslim neighbors and forced conversion to Islam. Unfortunately, as traumatic as her story sounds, hundreds of women have endured similar oppression.
___"My niece, Cecilia, who at that time was eight months pregnant, was also circumcised," Sagat said. "My mother, who was in her 70s, was also circumcised. Teenagers, and even infants, were circumcised. I don't understand these people."

Amazing that these "forced conversions" don't make it in reliable newspapers...when in fact the forcible conversions are by christians forcing Muslims to convert..by economic means etc. Been there, seen that. Same as they do in Africa and elsewhere.

Christian conversion is to emancipate people from religious slavery, and to give them a faith with love and compassion.

Muslim conversion is to gain world popularity, and to fill the shortage of suicide bombers.

Hindus are in good standing with their faith that is constantly corrupted.

Do you know in many countries it is legal to mutilate healthy genitals in males?

One may indulge in nonsensical religious polemic and slogans. I would win because I am infinitely better with words. But I will let that go. If Xity liberates by love and compassion, one is at a loss to explain the Waldenesians, the Albigensians, the Cathars, the inquisition, the Jew as antichrist, the eschatological dimension of the Holocaust (which has triggered a holocaust against palestinians now), the australian aborigines, the authochtonous people of north america...but..this is too easy. I have already broken my promise not to waste time. BTW, Jesus was circumcised too. So if God wanted him picknee circumcised, I guess God wanted Jewish and Islamic law...I wonder why somebody did not convert God to a religion that teaches love...oops..in that case, to save his son from getting his cockie banda'ed. Or at least God would have been so consumed by that love he would not have his son "die" for us...only for us to realise we were fooled, for supposedly God will let hiim come back alive. What a cheater God is...according to this logic.

Hinduism was only corrupted by those who cannot understand its teachings..including some of its masses who were not educated by the pandits. At least we know the difference between masses and pandits (in the classical sense of the word). It was this same religion that introduced some of the greatest scientific discoveries.
I find it beyond logic that those who take a man as god's son can accuse hinduism of corruption. By the yardstick of neutral measure, since Hinduism places ALL humans, indeed in some interpretations, ALL living beings as sharing in ATMAN, and since Christianity limits that to Jesus and God only, one may rightly say Hinduism is the religion that honors humans more, whereas xity practises discrimination. And the ultimate paradox...it was a JEW they worship..but JEWS that the institution tried to kill off and make as antichrist....Yepper...Bhagwan does have a sense of humor.

The first religon to start suicide wishers...check the cult of martyrs and tell me which religion they belonged to. A religion that has its "god" die..ergo,then claiming the romans or jews sinned to kill him. If God wanted him picknee dead, then the people who did the killing ought to be rewarded for having done God's will. Anyway..I done heah..too easy. Bye.Chief, Mike, Abu: u'd be better off ignoring de jackass because it will lead to acerbic polemic and we are told about HIKMAH and SABR.

If your aim is to win an argument by better words, is just the same as to cover the truth with polish lies. You are doing a good job trying, but don't keep it up.

However, I am not in a word contest with you, but to point out the fact that Muslims are committing the same nasty deed as they accused the christian of. End of story!

In case the turncoat could not read, I did not use words but facts.
But to show the liar for what it is...after all, I always call shit a shit..he uses the first person plural "us" forgetting that as far as HIS view is concerned, the worldview is that of sinners and saved. He is supposedly saved for believing in a Jewish man whose beliefs were mutilated--or I should say corrupted--in his name. I can dig him up good..but I don't like doing it in the name of religion because that upsets the many Christians that are in no way as vile and turdic as this wannabe polemist....

I would gurantee that Dara do not support the conversion of anyone. I have no beef with people of varying religious belief. What I find repugnant are the converters. Stick with what you have and find the goodness in it.

Once again you have been caught lying Princess. I am against conversion. From the very first day I came here I noted that I think. Once again, like a typically mendacious missionary, you employ lies to seek to divide. And your satanic innermost manifests itself for all to see...be they Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, or Atheist....you never cease to amaze me with your penchant for making yourself look stupid. Now you have exposed yourself as the vilest prevaricator.
I hold that if there is a God, S/He has led every nation, every culture to a path that is compatible with their culture and understanding. WHich is why I oppose conversion. And if one must, then the least s/he should do is choose without LYING about others...which is what the princess revels in. Ow bhai...me gat fi give up pun you because the saintly one has work to do. Sorry..I was having so much fun jumping on you....although now I realise I am being irreligious...why should I take you to task for being what you are? Ah hope Jesus died for you, because if he did not, you got nothing to redeem you..no logic, no personal quality...no nothing..u is a ganda egg.
