A few months back, I had published an excerpt from a proof for your comments. Thanks to your input, I had it corrected. P. 178 of Akbar Ahmed's book "Journey Into Islam" reads
Randolph Persaud, an American University professor from Guyana told me that 45% of that country's population is East Indian..about 10% are Muslim..and faces racial tension.After a number of assassinations targetting mainly south asians, Persaud said he say people in Guyana hanging a portrait of bin Ladin festooned with garlands in their homes." I am still doubtful about the reliability of what is reported in the last sentence: Muslims don't hang garlands around their heroes...but that is pro. Persaud's report..and Guyana has changed since I was there... The name of the book is "Journey Into Islam" It will be realeased in Canada on July 1, a month after the US. Toronto Star will publish my review on this book shortly. |

Mr. P is known to consume wild cane juice which may have caused him to make such an error I will certainly have a talking to him about this when I am in his company in the future. Should he claim that it is actual fact I will Clap two stick lash pon his rass, personally.HeHe

Birdie: if you do know him, check it out a bit more. It could have been a single home where there was a hindu-muslim couple and the guy was doing something like that...as you know in Guy, hindus hang garlands, and I don't know any hindu who would thus revere OBL. Sounds strange...but then...is guyana..

Cool. To get tenure at a place like American U, he would have to be a dedicated scholar...

I still find it strange that Dr. Persaud would write this…I surely hope he doesn’t have his students doing the writing and research…
