And I totally agree with you here again. Why should we fear God? However, what I find disagreeable is when you lump religion as a whole and categorize it as teaching such. Maybe some “sects” teach this but this is the opposite of what I get from religion which is why I disagree.

I know you have questioned why God would let people suffer as we do. Don’t you think in some way we are responsible for our suffering? I suppose it depends on how one approaches life also. An incident may occur and some will cry out why did this happen to me. Others will say thankfully it’s not as bad as it could be or rationalize that everything happens for a reason. Anyway, my point is that God, like any parent has children. As a parent you can raise your children a certain way but you can’t control how they act and the result of their actions; you advise them and let them make their own mistakes.
