Alan Greenspan claims Iraq war was really for oil

Graham Paterson
Greenspan on the 'irresponsible' Bush

AMERICA’s elder statesman of finance, Alan Greenspan, has shaken the White House by declaring that the prime motive for the war in Iraq was oil.

In his long-awaited memoir, to be published tomorrow, Greenspan, a Republican whose 18-year tenure as head of the US Federal Reserve was widely admired, will also deliver a stinging critique of President George W Bush’s economic policies.

Bush sold all these fellas his message to have them agree with him. .... how quick everyone forget the Americans was watching the Russian ... Russia forgive 8 to 12 billion dollars debt to Iraq just before the war started. Russia was becoming a strategic partner with Saddam etc ... go read up on it.

They did not expect this. Jay Leno thought that gas would be free. As jovial as he was, I am sure that many shared his idea more seriously.

is because he is hoping that McCain will win the election and carry out/finish the war in Iraq. Anything less will be a major blow to his already 8 yrs of failure.

And if things plays out the American way McCain will be the president.
