So how do we explain that the Yankees with their 25 world series championships was given a 26th at the expense of the Mets who were just hoping for their 2rd? The Yankees had just gotten three in four years while the Mets had not had one for the past 14 years?. The Red Sox had to wait 86 years to get there again. Everyone like to invoke that which is not necessary. A game is a game. You win if you do all the right things and you don't if you mess up.

For all the people who read the Qur'an here, I am usually surprised that when you quote a passage, no one know that it is from the Qur'an or where to find it if it is from the Qur'an.

Should i go or should i stay on this foum ? :) Now every time you go to that site and listen to Quran I will get some blessings. Remember the one who listens get more rewards that the one who recites. Insha Allah we both will get some rewards from this small effort by me. Sallam my sister.:)

buddy i am just reiterating what your statements were to chief. nothing is wrong with watching the superbowl with ones family...we as muslims are allowed to enjoy that which allah has created on this earth as long as we know where the boundaries are. islam is an easy religion to follow - never meant to be difficult for anyone.

instead of telling chief HE should be reading quran with his family .... you should have stated what YOU will be doing instead. dont start with "I encourage all...." be the example....do and not dictate to others what to do..cause guess what...they wont do it :)

now if you had worded your msg differently, Chief might have left the conversation and thought "hey you know what..look at what my brother is doing...maybe i can do the same"

your intention may not have been bad...but the way you delivered your msg made at least 3 muslim and other non muslims shy away from what your true msg was.

peace dude! a bird cannot eat from a closed hand but an open one ;)

This is so true Laila.

This quote is on the Muslim Welfare Centre site
"WE MUSLIMS are born in this world to become a living symbol of goodness, nobility and humanity. We should win over the hearts of all the people by our character and example. Then alone we can become the true ambassador of ISLAM. UNITED WE GAIN , DIVIDED WE LOSE"

I love your analogy, I pray that we all can be attracted to Islam and acts of ibaddah in a similar manner.

inshallah!

lemme tell you this: 1 day my mom waiting in the MDs office to see the doctor. instead of walking with a novel or a magazine like i do..she walks with her quran and she took it out and started to read it while waiting..not a little quran..the big ones :)

anyways two other muslim ladies were also reading...magazines.

the following week my mom had to go back for follow up and only one of the other ladies happen to be there as well...guess what the other lady was reading this time?...Holy Quran.

the lady and my mom became friends and she is now another adopted 'aunty' that i have..but she told my mother...that simple example may her go home and think about it...see how the approach got a result that was not even the intention of my mother?

Even Allah said that had the prophet been harsh or hard hearted, people would have dispersed from him. There is a proper way of doing things and our dear prophet knew how. Our methods are getting farther away from his.

You worship Him but can't prove that He exist. So when you call someone a clung, you should first look in the mirror.
