There are so many very good movies it is hard to stick to only five.

of the list the first three on the hononable list ... who would have guess I would have seen all three...since I came to live near my sister she having me watching these movies..

Ek Duje ki Liye (sentimental…my fuss movie as a tot)
Company (great acting)
Halla Bol (the movie was ok because not enough care was taken to enhance a great storyline but the message was powerful.)

Its certainly difficult to limit to top 5 but here is my choice

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Aradhana
Ek Duje Ke Liye

These are movies I have seen several times and will watch again sometime in the future

I used to love Ek Duje Ke Liya .... I dont know why I dont now. But its interesting that it made petal/riya list.

It appeal to me since the first time I saw it. It was interesting the way the parents despise each other and use that against the lovers and also the caste/language barrier. I find Kamal Hassan very lovable and endearing. The songs helped big time too.

all those are great movies but we have only 5 choices, i can also add 'ashiqui', 'dil ka rishta', 'dhadkan', 'karan arjun' n 'andaaz'.

my take would be that at least every decade had at least 5 top movies that are memorable...
some of the golden oldies were great; as Jis desh mein Ganga behti hai, Nagin, Ganga Jumna-film in Bihar w/Bhojpuri, Rani Roopmati, Bhabhi, Kohinoor,Aan,Aah,Barsaat,,,,
but my fave of all times:
Mother India - dharti songs
Sanyasi-one special song
Pakeeza-all songs
Kabhi Kabhi, title song
Ek duje ke liya-tere mere beech mein
too many movies wid too much heart songs..
