A kiss may be just a kiss in most of the Western world - and increasingly among India's Westernised urban elite.

But when it is on screen and between two of Bollywood's biggest heartthrobs, it still amounts to a whole lot more than a hill of beans. In fact, according to an Indian court, it could be considered a crime.

A criminal case has been filed against Aishwarya Rai, the former Miss World, and Hrithik Roshan over their on-screen kiss in the recently-released action blockbuster, Dhoom 2.

Shailendra Dwivedi, a lawyer in the central state of Madhya Pradesh, filed the suit last week and a local court has agreed to hear the case

Kissa Kiss Ka
A kiss can make tongues go a-rolling. Now there was no pun intended, you naughty minds! We were simply saying that when stars kiss on-screen, it naturally sparks off a lot of tittle-tattle off-screen. For instance, the recent Kareena Kapoor-Fardeen Khan lip-lock in Dev lit some fireworks in gossip circles. Actress Celina Jaitley has her own take on this matter; as she told us, "I have no issues with sensuousness, but I have a problem with vulgarity. I did a lip-kiss with Fardeen in his home-production Janasheen, then again with my South star in the film Suryam. Yes, such scenes do provide meat for the rumour mills, but audiences aren't so foolish; they know that a lip-kiss on-screen doesn't make us a couple in love, off-screen.

The question seems to be: in love or not? Just chill, babes, and let the tongues do the rolling, er... talking, we mean! After all these steamy kisses bring the audiences to theatres. And they are bound to create gossip for the actors involved in such scenes, often get into a relationship otherwise too. But we appreciate Celina's stand, for each one has their own take.

A few years ago, when a coy couple were about to kiss on screen in a Bollywood film, the camera would glide to two flowers brushing against each other or two parrots pecking at each other's beaks.

We are living in the year of information, and the idea of taboo, should be looked at in a different way.

Years ago I could remember when the garb for men and women used to be Sari, Kurta and Dhoti or Pyjama, not saying that these clothes are not fasionable, but we have come afar way since then, the laws should be looked at again, with intention of easing the restrictions of kisses.

say it ain't so! I love Emraan. He's not your typical handsome bollywood star but I like his bad boy image.
