Shiny Ahuja is a son of an army commander and was born on May 15 1969 in New Delhi. Joining the armed forces was his ambition, but then he got attracted to Theatre and he joined Barry Johns acting School in Delhi. Barry is a famous name as he trained Shahrukh Khan.

Shiny came to Bombay with a dream to make it like the Shahrukh. Shiny started modeling and did many commercials for Cadbury, Park Avenue, Raymonds, but it was Peter England shirts that gave face value to Shiny. Shiny also did a music video for Stereo Nation and was spotted in that by Farhan Akhtar, who asked him to audition for Dil Chatha Hai. Shiny bagged a role in the movie, but could not do it due to some unknown reasons.

Shiny got married to a topnotch corporate woman Anu Ahuja. Shiny joined Mahesh Dattani s workshop in the mean time to brush up his acting skills. Shiny Ahuja signed Sins directed by Vinod Pandey as his debut project; the movie gave rise to controversies as Shiney played the role of a Church priest who has a sexual relation with a younger woman.

Shinys second movie was Kal directed by Ruchi Narayan; the two were also romantically linked. Sudhir Mishras Hazar Khwashion Aisi made the audiences sit up and take notice of Shinys talent. Mahesh Bhatt signed him for Gangster and the movie made him a star.

Shiny Ahuja is regarded as one of the rising stars in Bollywood, but his image is that not of an emblematic commercial hero, who can dance and do action; so Shiny ends up getting more mature roles, but that gives him an opportunity to display his acting skills.

‘It’s good to feel like a hero’

In an industry where aspiring newcomers come in by the dozens trying to attain stardom, there was one, who aspired to become an actor. ‘Let me prove myself as an actor, stardom will follow,’ he believed.

Four years since then, his prophecy has come true. We are talking about Shiney Ahuja whose entry into Bollywood could well be the stuff nightmares are made of. Sample this: His debut film Sins was panned as an X-rated thriller. He was criticsed for everything right from the films he signed — an unconventional Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi — to even his name. ‘Shiney would never work,’ they rebuked. Today, the actor has his detractors eating back their own words.

Shiney Ahuja having proven his acting mettle with Hazaaron..., the actor became a star with his very next Gangster, proving that Hazaaron... was not just a flash in the pan and the actor continues to back it up with films like Bhool Bhulaiyya and Khoya Khoya Chand, both earning him rave reviews. Backing up his actor status with powerhouse performances, Shiney has stood on his own, as he inches his way to the A-league. And the actor’s ever-increasing bag now boasts of films including action thriller Hijack with Esha Deol, Sudhir Mishra’s Aur Devdas with Lara Dutta, another action movie on the lines of Dhoom and Jahnu Barua’s Har Pall with Preity Zinta.

How-ever, with the stardom and meatier projects came rumours — a price Shiney believes one has to pay for being famous — and he found himself making news for all the wrong reasons. So, when it was not about his alleged affair with director Ruchi Narain or his collapsing marriage with wife Anu, it was about him having attitude problems. But Shiney has taken it all in his stride. “The so-called filmmakers who claim that I have an attitude problem are the ones, I’ve refused to work with. Don’t you think it’s funny, none of the guys I’ve worked with have ever said that. So, what attitude are they talking about,” laughs Shiney. On a serious note he adds, “My fierce bid to protect the privacy of my personal life and the challenge to choose in my professional life is often misconstrued as arrogance.”

And what about talks about his marriage going kaput? “That’s all rubbish is all I can say. My wife is the only one I owe an explanation to ever and she doesn’t need one. All that I can say is that I am happily married. Thank you,” adds this new dad who refuses to talk about daughter Arshiya, but admits, “She is the love of my life.”

On a high personally, professionaly too Shiney’s going great guns. Being slotted as an intense actor, he’s now looking forward to proving that he’s equally good at both action and in comedy. “I don’t know why I have been typecast as an intense guy. For me even an easy-going character can be intense, if you play him with conviction and he is able to move you. I just do my roles passionately,” he explains.

Gearing up for some high octane action films, the actor’s really excited about the kick-ass stunts he’s performing in Kunal Shivdasani’s Hijack. “There’s a lot of mid-air action involved and doing all the stunts gave me quite a kick.” He’s even working out to get into the right shape to play a biker in another bike-action adventure film. “It’s good to feel like a hero every once in a while. Doing all the dishoom dishoom on-screen is a nice break after those ‘intense roles’. I think I’m getting addicted to action.” With so much on his platter, what’s the star looking forward to this year? “Lots of action, more interesting films and hopefully no rumours,” he laughs.

Shiney Ahuja will enthral audiences with his power-packed action in Hijack

Shiney AhujaActor Shiney Ahuja, known for his intense looks and powerful emoting, will enthral audiences with his power-packed performance in the action thriller “Hijack”.

The film, which is ad filmmaker Kunal Shivdasani’s debut, is filled with action sequences and thrilling visual as well as sound effects.

The first action promo of “Hijack”, expected to hit theatres in June, features Shiney performing mid-air stunts as he leaps on to a flying helicopter and an aircraft in a convincing way.

The movie’s promo focuses on how a well-planned plane hijack is foiled.

Shiney fights back six people who have hijacked the flight with 198 passengers on board.

The story of the movie Hijack is based on the flight hijack stories and how a single man gets into the hijacked air plane and tries to save people in trouble. The movie is an action thriller and was known for some good stunts shots by Shiney. The movie may be released by May.

The story of the movie is about Vikram who is employed with the airport authority at the Chandigarh airport and he has a close friend Rajeev who is the security officer of the airport. In a most unexpected event Vikram’s daughter gets seated into an aircraft that is hijacked. Vikram’s daughter is traveling from Delhi to Amritsar and the plane is hijacked by a group of six terrorist.

The terrorists take control of the air plane and demand for freeing a terrorist named Maqsood from the Indian government. The government tries to get a plan to make people seated on the plane safe but the presence of terrorists in an airplane makes the life of people sitting on it vulnerable. Somehow the plane is forced to land on the Chandigarh Airport and as the terrorists are demanding the release of militants from Indian police .Militants are also threatening to kill the passengers sitting on the plane.

The terrorist demand the release of the militant Maqsood and the mastermind of the hijack plan is Abdullah. Vikram is posted with the Chandigarh airport and he wants to save his daughter and other passengers on board. By chance he gets to get into the plane where the air hostess Saira is there and both together try to help the passenger on board out of the plane. As Vikram tries to help people out of the plane, the terrorists make counter attacks and kill a few passengers but with the efforts of Vikram and Saira many passengers could get safely out of the plane.

The movie also has suspense related to the militant mastermind and has many other related stories.
