Born on July 16, 1984 Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship.

Katrina grew up in Hawaii, but was brought up in London, UK. She started modeling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the tender age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelery campaign. Thereafter she continued modeling in London.

Continuing to model was the reason she got her break in a Bollywood movie "Boom" offered by none other than film-maker Kaizad Gustad.

Yup, this is the cover of the magazine's June issue featuring the gorgeous actress.

Katrina fended off competition from other beautiful women like Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie, Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to bag the title.

The poll, which was conducted for the first time in India, consisted of 100 women from Bollywood, Hollywood, supermodels and singers.

And from the looks of it, India has found the perfect woman for the title.

“It feels great. I think it’s the sweetest thing that my fans have done. They have actually taken time off to go online and vote for me,” says the actress, flashing a million dollar smile.Kats is also the most downloaded actress, her pictures are the most viewed ones online. “Isn’t that amazing?” she asks.
Her fan following is increasing, is she going to start a blog soon? “I’m a very shy person. I reach out to my fans through my films, beyond that I am not someone who talks a lot. Starting a blog means updating your viewers with what’s happening in your life on a daily basis, which I can’t do. I need my personal space,” says the actress.

A prominent celebrity photographer Atul Kasbekar feels it’s her looks that make her apart from other stars. Katrina Kaif received a staggering over 5 lakh votes in the poll to be picked up the sexiest woman, an indication that she has the support of many people. Katrina says, “there is a very thin line between being an attractive woman and overtly sexy…For me it's important to be attractive to the family audience. At the same time, it's crucial to have my young fans too”.

The number of rumours through the grapevine, the truth or false factor, the never ending list of latest news and the best one being that they wouldn’t want to discuss their ‘private lives’. Maybe, they think ‘private life’ is that part of their life that they don't want to talk about. But once you become a public figure or a celebrity you open yourself like a clam to the public likes or dislikes. It comes with the territory. It is the public who makes celebrities who they are.

This time we bring to you the Saltrina duo - Salman and Katrina – the hottest belle with the hunkiest of guys in Bollywood. They have had their differences but who cares about minor skirmishes when the two are, at the moment, Bollywood’s hottest pair. Are they marrying, is what everyone would ask. Katrina Kaif, the stunning beauty of new age Bollywood era raced to inevitable stardom after the release of her film Race, is well known for the ferocity with which she guards her private life.
It doesn’t look like Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif would become man and wife this year as Kaif is busy focusing on her career that has taken off in a big way. Speaking on the topic of wedding, Katrina said that she has six sisters and a brother, and her aim is to get them settled in life before she even plans her wedding. Due to her tight schedule the actress missed her flight to Bangalore. Katrina had to be there to cheer for business tycoon Vijay Mallaya’s IPL team. But delayed, she could not make it on time to the airport. She is the brand ambassador of Vijay Mallaya’s IPL team. And on learning about Katrina’s little quandary, the champion Mallaya swiftly made arrangements and flew ‘Kitty Kat’ down to Bangalore in his private jet. “That’s the advantage of being a brand ambassador for Vijay Mallaya’s Royal Challengers IPL team. Otherwise, I don’t think I would have made it on time. You know they will make sure that you reach despite the maddening schedules,” Katrina laughed. Flying high, eh!

Salman Khan, the mercurial Bollywood star, honoured recently with a wax replica at Madame Taussauds in London seems unstoppable both personally and professionally. He needs no one to take him on private jets nor treats. He’s well in place to be able to offer anyone these nifty treats that come with stardom.
Katrina Kaif, born on July 16, 1984 that makes her ruling number 9, is a model and actress. One of eight siblings, Katrina was born in Hong Kong to British parents, her father being of Kashmiri origin. She grew up in Hawaii and then moved to London. At the age of 14, Katrina started modelling for a jewellery campaign in London, and was subsequently discovered by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad, who gave her a part in his film Boom. She moved to Mumbai immediately and was offered a number of modelling assignments. However, filmmakers were at first hesitant to sign her because of her linguistic shortcomings, such as her inability to speak Hindi. Films that did feature her usually had her voice dubbed over by a native speaker of the film's language. This changed with the film, Namastey London, where she played along side Akshay Kumar and later Apne, in which she dubbed her own lines. Little did she know, trouble would later brew pertaining to the Akshay factor.
As for Salman Khan, popularly known by his nickname Sallu, Sooraj Barjatya never makes a film without him; David Dhawan always come up with a success formula with Salman as a protagonist and Sohail Khan, his brother-cum-producer (a convenient blend) has occasional hits up his sleeves. Salman quite gracefully played second fiddle to Madhuri Dixit in Hum Aapke Hain Koun!
In one of the most harrowing times which cast an evil spell on his life, Salman got arrested in Rajasthan towards the end of 1998, while shooting for Barjatya's Hum Saath Saath Hain. Charged for hunting down the endangered black buck deer, he was taken into custody only to be released later. And the industry took a sigh of relief because as close to Rs. 100 crores in production was riding on his shoulders. The continuous streak of commercial success in the last one and half decade, make his movies, a collector's delight. He's a movie buff's dream come true and an ageless poster boy who has kept the entire nation entertained for years on end. Many envy his magic with people and his uncanny ability to strike it with the audience. Ever since he matured in his movies this hunk has taken on the demeanour of the Hollywood fave Bruce Willis and seems to be following in his steps. In personal life he can be compared to Anthony Hopkins. All said and done, he has still has years on his side and miles to go. For the time being there seems to be no stopping, personally and professionally. Salman Khan is also notorious for his aggressive macho behaviour.

Salman and Katrina met at a social event in Bandra after Katrina's first film, Boom. Katrina at that time said, "I am not getting married now or in the near future. I am concentrating on my career." But that was some time back. According to industry's gossip mongers, Salman will never marry. As for Salman, he is known to have helped launch Katrina's Bollywood career and Katrina is close to Salman, say his family and friends. By her own admission, Katrina counts Vipul Shah, Sajid Nadiadwala and David Dhawan amidst her close friends in Bollywood, all of whom are also close friends of Salman Khan. 23-year-old Katrina also emphasises, "I create my own equations." Rumor has it that she was booted out of Mukesh Bhat's Saya because of her alleged link up with Salman Khan but she is quick to hit back that Salman had nothing to do with it. The reason for her omission was taken on considerations only best known to Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt. Being a professional she thinks her personal life would not have any bearing on her signing movies and completing them.

Salman was reported to have slapped his dear girlfriend, Katrina Kaif, in front of several onlookers at Bandstand Barrista, a coffee shop in Bandra. Here is how a source described the incident to the Mumbai tabloid Mid-Day. "They were chatting when suddenly the argument got heated. Salman got up and slapped his girlfriend across her left cheek. It wasn't a hard slap but it made a cracking sound, leaving the actress and the onlookers stunned in shocked silence. Instead of making a scene, she quietly got up and walked out, without uttering a word." A staffer at the Barrista corroborated the eyewitness account telling the tabloid that usually Salman, a regular visitor, is very well behaved. "This was the first time something like this happened," he acknowledged. Katrina had denied the incident terming it "rubbish."
Intriguingly the sensational report, about an incident that occurred over a week ago, then in January, had appeared in the tabloid on the same day that its competing tabloid Mumbai Mirror had carried an equally dubious report about Saif's wedding to Kareena. But then, Salman is known to be temperamental.

Katrina Kaif denied that boyfriend Salman Khan hit her in her vanity van during the filming of Subhash Ghai's Yuvraj, after seeing photos of her cozying up with Akshay Kumar during an IPL match in Delhi.
After seeing photos of her cozying up with Akshay Kumar during an IPL match in Delhi Salman Khan lashed out a tight slap at Katrina when he came to know that Kat was in town for the Yuvraj shoot. He made to her van and shut the door behind him. The rest follows. “Nothing of the sort happened. I don't understand, why the media can’t leave us alone," Katrina told HT City. The reason why the media cannot leave them alone is because a source on the set told a tabloid that the unit member heard Salman screaming at Katrina and abusing her, while the two were locked up in her vanity van for three hours. "He was overheard telling her, 'How can you treat me like this, what the [bleep] do you think you were doing with Akshay in that match… now you're here like nothing has happened and trying to act all cool,” the source says. “Katrina was quiet even as Sallu raved and ranted. Once or twice, she tried to reason with the actor but to no avail. Katrina was crying and what she was saying was inaudible. But she surely said something which unnerved Salman even more because we heard a loud slap which was followed by a few more." Salman's publicist promptly told HT City, "Sallu bhai is too chivalrous to do such an act. He is too soft hearted to hit anyone especially Katrina as he really loves her."

Katrina, 23, and Salman, 42, have an intriguing relationship. The two have never declared themselves an item yet Katrina frequently hosts parties at Salman's house and attends public events as his arm candy. Katrina spilled the beans on her impending plans to tie the knot with the actor Salam Khan as she also said: "I do not think that anyone knows what Salman or his family members want, except themselves. I do not think that it is right for us to comment or discuss these personal and private matters among public until anything forms." During her interview, it was the first time that Katrina came anywhere close to discussing the topic. Katrina Kaif also showed her interest in clothes probably because Salman Khan has recently launched his designer collection with his images on them. She said she loves buying clothes and she is passionate about Salman's venture.
Did someone say she’s thinking of what happened to the South-Indian beauty, Aishwariya Rai? For the time being, let’s focus on if the KAT is still in Sallu's bag...?

Katrina Kaif - "I’m not getting married"

It’s that time of the year again - the time when gossipmongers rear their heads to announce that Katrina Kaif is getting married to Salman Khan.

The most interesting fact is that rumour mills even decide dates and mahurats for the multiple (and, apparently, annual) Sallu-Kat weddings they’ve organised in the recent past. This time, the grapevine says that the wedding is going to happen ‘very soon’ and ‘only close friends and relatives will be a part of it’.

Well, Kat remains unperturbed. When we asked her about the rumours, she replied, “These rumours are completely false and ridiculous. I am not getting married. These are silly people playing games by spreading these rumours. I’d also like to add that I’m booked every day of this year already for my films.”

So she’s precluded the possibility of getting married any time again this year. Then why is it that people don’t stop talking about Salman and her and why don’t the two of them take a stand on this? “It is because people know that both Salman and I do not comment on our private lives ever,” she answers.

Occasions where similar rumours have been spread before:

The first time these rumours surfaced was when Salman came to Kat’s rescue by lodging a formal complaint with the police against Mumbai’s 25-year-old Vasant Giri for sending vulgar text messages to Katrina.

It was said that since Salman had openly supported Kat, the next thing surely would be marriage.
Rumour no 2 - Gossipmongers said that Katrina and Salman secretly married before an award ceremony in Singapore. This was done, purportedly, to teach a lesson to Abhiash who were going to tie the knot soon after. Katrina had dismissed the rumour, saying that it was “utter rubbish”.

The third rumour was that Katrina and Salman had secretly married in the presence of a maulvi in Mumbai. When we contacted Kat on the same day, she said, “I’m in South Africa shooting with Saif Ali Khan.” And more recently, Katrina walked out of a press meet in Delhi’s Kamala Nehru College because somebody asked her if Salman actually slapped her at a café in Mumbai.
