Thank you gentlemen but I guess I am still without a clear mandate (hehehe) so I will continue to pander to my whims Smile

What nice things to say, ASJ Bhai... I am embarassed, feel like looking down bashfully and kicking dirt.

Thank you for inviting me to this forum. All of you have enriched me.

I know this was a sad song, but after reading the meaning, it made me sad!

Ri, that is what Mukesh is all about Sadness,
Feelings, Heart wrenching Emotions and Griefs, sometimes we do take solace in having the pleasure of listening to such an artiste now and again just for the sake of stirring up the human emotions within.

.

Mukesh also sang songs of joie de vivre :

Jyot Se Jyot Jalate Chalo
Prem Ki Ganga Bahate Chalo

Kisiki muskuraahaton pe ho nisaar
Kisika dard mil sake to le udhaar
Kisike waaste ho tere dil mein pyaar
Jeena issi ka naam hai

Duniya Waalon Se Door Jalnewaalon Se Door
Aaja Aaja Chalen Kahin Door ...
Kahin Door...Kahin Door

Suhana safar aur yeh mausam haseen
Humein darr hai hum kho na jaaye kahin

Hum Tum Yug Yug Se Ye Geet Milan Ke
Gaate Rahen Hain Gaate Rahenge

Ek pyar ka nagma hai,
maujon ki ravaani hai
Zindagi aur kuch bhi nahin
Teri meri kahaani hai

chhaliya mera naam, chhaliya mera naam
hindu muslim sikh isaai sabko mera salaam

Dil ki nazar se, nazaron ki dil se
Ye baat kya hai, ye raaz kya hai
Koi hamein bataa de

taaron mein saj ke, apane sooraj se, dekho dharatee chalee milane
chanakee paayal mach gayee halachal anbar saaraa lagaa hilane

need I say more? He was superb in all.

Asj,

I would like to dedicate this one for Father's birthday on Sept 13th. Can you post the music link?

Hindi Song Title: Do Rang Duniya Ke
Hindi Movie/Album Name: DO RAASTE

Do rang duniyaa ke aur do raaste, do roop jeevan ke jeene ke waaste
do rang duniya ke aur do raaste

The world offers humanity the choice of two colors and two paths. Based on our association with either, our lives are also divided into two.

soch samajh ke paav rakhe, samjhaa do har deewane ko -2
ik rasta mandir ko jaaye, ik jaaye maikhaane ko -2
raasta bhul naa jaaye, raahi dhokhaa naa khaaye

Think very carefully before placing your feet on either path and tell your experience to others. One path leads to the mandir, the other leads to the "rum shop". Don't forget the pains or joys of the paths. Don't deceive yourself.

ek hain aise log jo, auron ki Khaatir jeete hain -2
dusare wo jo apni Khaatir, apno kaa Khoon hi peete hain -2
koi phool khilaaye, koi kaante bikharaaye

One group of people live for others while the other group live only for themselves and they drink the blood of others for their happiness. Some pave a path of flowers for us while others plant thorns in our way.

Thanks for such a lovely bhajan. I now reserve this one for weddings. I have a problem with one line and my disagreent with the philosphy or teaching became more entrenched when I saw the movie "Maayaa".

I will wait for Bhai Saeed's translation and the line is: "Jina Kanyaa dhana ko daan diyo". The best line for me : "Jina Maata Pitaa Ki Sevaa Hi Una tirtha snaana kiyo na kiyo." .... the essence of our Hindu Dharma.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you Sad Bhai ... I must confess sanskrit is my weak area but I would like to give it a try if I could have the wording, please. Lynn, ASJ Sb?

Asj, Bahut dhanyivaad! You have made my day.

The irony in this song is that is used to be played in the rum shops and the fellas used to dance to it.

LEGENDARY:MUKESH CHAND MATHUR

(56) MUJHKO YARON MAAF KARNA.........MAIN NASHE MEIN HOON 1959
http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/qr2mesedPd.As1NMvHdW/

Singer:.........Mukesh
Musician:.......Shankar Jaikishen
Lyrics:.........Shailendra
Year:...........1959

Zahid sharaab peene de, masjid mein baithkar
O Holy one, let me drink, sitting in mosque
Ya woh jagah bataa de, jahan par khuda na ho
Else point out that place, where God is not

Mujhko yaaron maaf karna, main nashe mein hoon
Please forgive me, friends, I am drunk
Mujhko yaaron maaf karna, main nashe mein hoon
Please forgive me, friends, I am drunk
Ab to moomkin hai behakna, main nashe mein hoon
Now it is possible that I stumble, I am drunk
Mujhko yaaron maaf karna, main nashe mein hoon
Please forgive me, friends, I am drunk

Kal ki yaaden mit rahi hain, dard bhi hain kam
Yesterday's memories are erasing, the pain too is subsiding
Ab jara aaraam se aa jaa raha hai dam
And easily now comes and goes the breath
Are aa jaa raha hai dam
yes comes and goes the breath
Kam hain ab dil ka tadapna, main nashe mein hoon
less is now the agony of the heart, I am drunk
Ab to moomkin hai behakna, main nashe mein hoon
Now it is possible that I stumble, I am drunk
Mujhko yaaron maaf karna, main nashe mein hoon
Please forgive me, friends, I am drunk

Dhal chuki hai raat kab ki, ooth gayi mehfil
ended the night long ago, finished is the party
Main kahan jaoon nahi koi meri manzil
where shall I go, I have no destination
Nahi koi meri manzil
I have no destination
Do kadam mushkil hai chalna, main nashe mein hoon
Difficult walking a few steps, I am drunk
Mujhko yaaron maaf karna, main nashe mein hoon
Please forgive me, friends, I am drunk

Hai zara si baat aur chhalke hain kuch pyaale
It's was nothing important and a few cups overflowed
Warna jaane kya kahenge ye jahanwale
Else who knows what the people will say
Kahenge ye jahanwale
what the people will say
Tum bas itna yaad rakhna, main nashe mein hoon
you please remember just this, I am drunk
Ab to moomkin hai behakna, main nashe mein hoon
Now it is possible that I stumble, I am drunk
Mujhko yaaron maaf karna, main nashe mein hoon
Please forgive me, friends, I am drunk

Hindi Song Title: Sansaar Hai Ik Nadiya
Hindi Movie/Album Name: RAFTAAR

sansaar hai ik nadiyaa, duhkh-sukh do kinaare hain
na jaane kahaan jaayen, ham bahate dhaare hain

chalate hue jeevan kee, raftaar mein ik lay hai
ik raag mein ik sur mein, sansaar ki har shay hai
sansaar ki har shay hai ...
ik taar pe gardish mein, ye chaand sitaare hain

dharati pe ambar ki aankhon se barasati hai
ik roz yahi boonden, phir baadal banati hain -2
is banane bigadane ke dastoor mein saare hain

koi bhi kisi ke lie, apana na paraaya hai
risshte ke ujaale men, har aadami saaya hai -2

ASJ bhai, I would like to dedicate this for 9/11. The lyrics are traditional and there are quite a few variations so the words may not match 100%. Perhaps you can post the music for it.

Pitu Maatu Sahaayak Svaaamii Sakhaa

Singer Mukesh

Comments: Available on HMV CS "Ram karen so hoye" - Mukesh Bhajans

Pitu maatu sahaayak svaamii sakhaa
tum hii ek naath hamaare ho
jin ke kachhu ur aadhaar nahii.n
Tin ke tum hii rakhavaare ho
pitu maatu sahaayak svaamii sakhaa ...

You are our Father, Mother, Helper, Lord and Friend, our one Master.
You are the guardian of the destitute.

Sab bhaa.Nti sadaa sukh dayak ho, duHkh du.rdam naashan haare ho
Pratipaal karo sagare jag ko, atishay karuNaa guN dhaare ho
pitu maatu sahaayak svaamii sakhaa ...

In several ways You are always the giver of happiness and the destroyer of pain and evil propensities. Protect this entire world, Lord, through the endless compassion You have in Your heart.

Shubh shaa.Nti niketan prem nidhi, man ma.ndir ke ujiyaare ho
is jiivan ke tum jiivan ho, in praaNan ke tum pyaare ho
tum so prabhu paaya prataap Hari, kahiye ke ab aur sahaare ho
pitu maatu sahaayak svaamii sakhaa ....

Yours is the mansion of auspiciousness and peace, the Storehouse of love, and the light that continuously glows in the temple of my mind. You are the Cause of my Life, and the Energy activating my vital forces. Lord, from You we obtain a sense of courage. In Your presence, what further help do we need?

Hindi Movie/Album Name: RAFTAAR
Mukesh and Asha

sansaar hai ik nadiyaa, duhkh-sukh do kinaare hain
na jaane kahaan jaayen, ham bahate dhaare hain

This world is a river, the two banks representing sorrows and joys. None of us knows our destination but we are moving along with the tide.

chalate hue jeevan kee, raftaar mein ik lay hai
ik raag mein ik sur mein, sansaar ki har shay hai
sansaar ki har shay hai ...
ik taaL pe gardish mein, ye chaand sitaare hain

Life goes on in some well planned rhythmic way in tune with the beat of the world. This very taal is manifested in the moon and stars.

dharati pe ambar ki aankhon se barasati hai
ik roz yahi boonden, phir baadal banati hain -2
is banane bigadane ke dastoor mein saare hain

The cycle goes on and on. Water evaporates from the earth to the skies and it falls again as rain. This is the principle on which the world operates.

koi bhi kisi ke lie, apanaa naa paraaya hai
risshte ke ujaale men, har aadami saaya hai -2
kudarata ke bhi dekho to, ye khel puraane hain

No one cares for anyone else. We are all strangers to each other. In the light of relations each man is just a shadow. Isn't this a strange phenomenon of nature.

hai kaun vo duniya men, na paap kiya jisane
bin ulajhe kaanton se, hain phool chune kisane
hain phool chune kisane ...
be-daag nahi koee, yahaan paapi saare hain

Who in this world has not commited a sin? If we fear hurt by the thorns we will never pluck the rose. Every one of us has left some sinful stain behind.

I sang this at my Hindi school anniversary. It was a hit. This translation was given to me so I am just sharing it. Enjoy.
