Kareena Kappoor might have bagged Screen and Filmfare Awards this year but Aishwarya Rai is not far behind. She has been awarded as the Best Actress for Guru in The Fifth Annual Central European Bollywood Awards.

She has been appreciated for her outstanding work in Mani Ratnam’s Guru . An elated Aishwarya says, “I am happy to be honoured by Annual Central European Bollywood Awards. It’s like double celebration for me as my film Guru too has won Five Awards in different categories.”

Mani Ratnam’s Guru had 14 nominations in several categories out of which the film managed to win in categories like Best Script, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Singer and Best Actress. Faran Khan’s Om Shanti Om has been declared as best film of the year.

What the hell these people need awards for they get paid for what they do along with a lot of pat's on the back.

First Priety Zinta and noe Kareena Kapoor bring to mind the Hollywood star Demi Moore. Demi may not be the accomplished actress that Meryl Streep or Nickole Kidman are but she demonstrated star power from not-so-much-star talent. Like that terrific marketing genius, Madonna, whose talents were not near Whitney Houston or even Cindy Lauper.

That said, I believe that today's best Indian actress is Vidya Balam. I think of her as the Indian "Meryl Streep", though not with the latter's acting abilities. That other noted actress of talent, Rani Mukerjee, has been quiet of late.

Aish is a middling Bollywood actress but a terrific dancer and of course a good looker.

For sultriness give me Kareena and Malika

I should add that the Depika girl from Om Shanti Om and the Kapoor girl from Saawariya are two to watch for in the future.
