Hi RQ, I have emailed those folks at the GY archives so many times over the last couple of years, and they never responded to any of my requests. I emailed last month and still no reply. I will try and see if I can pay someone in GT to do this for me. I have no one Guyana to do this for me. Anyone in this forum from GT??? Big Grin
Thank you.

Jagie... archives do not respond to emails fm many ppl..they are just ignored..some may be lucky...i was there last year and never saw a pc..?? anyway, you may have to go yourself t search the ship list...but all you need is the Emigrant Pass as this has all the details of where they belong in India. What is your grandmother's name...while the ship name and year is important, it is easier to search if you also know the name and the emigrant indentured number...this you can find at gpo in the birth registers..i know someone in gt who may be able to find someone to check for you..will call gy this week for some info..

Hi RQ, thank you very much. How true, I find that people at the archives do not reply to anything. When I left Guyana in 1980,I asked my brother to make sure he gets all the info about our great grand parents. In 2001 he finally handed me most of it. The only one that had a Emigrant pass number on it,and a ship name was my Nana's mother. She arrived in Guyana in 1891 on the Sheila.I have given her pass to a few people on the various forums since I got it,and I end up loosing it. Her name is "Nanuwattie" I think the spelling is incorrect. I spoke to her last daughter "Nana's sister" in 2004 before she died (91 years). She was the one who told me name starts with a "n" instead of "m". I taught that it was Manuwattie". She might be a easy find, because before my mom passed away in Oct 2005 she told me that Nanuwattie was accompanied by her my mother. So that would mean that my great great mother was on the Sheila 1891 too. Please see what you can do. I am still trying to get some one to look into this for me. Thank you.

Don't yu recall the forums or whom you gave the pass..so you can get it back..or atleast the info on the pass...why did you give the original..you could have given a copy...I will never give my original..I have them scan on a cd as well as a back up copy + hard copies.. a double protective measure as I consider these my most precious documents to date..
