Girl BK that Madras part of my family is but a leaf - bring on all the branches ....

Ladies, you would be surprise to know that all it takes is one name - if you can go back as far as the oldest living person in the family and ask questions.... then you can start your search. I am willing to help.

I also have relations to Chungs'... as in Arthur... but no Chands...

I probably got to go a real long way back to find Arthur in my tree!

From these names lets say you start with Fernandes(z) - this look like the likely Madras connection. If you can get the birth certificate, of the place and date of birth, of he/she then we can start the search.

It's Fernandes with the (s) and it's probably 1800's... they linked with the Brazilians thus the s instead of the z as in Spanish.

That might more be Portuguese connection (Goa) which is your connection to India.
