Yes.. Sunrise next door to that West Indian bakery...opp the drug store... I knew they had a strip joint or something downstair... Food city was before IGA... it was early '80's my sis used to live on Esterbrooke...

I am very surprised that they are not a lot of Duran Duran, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Mellencamp, Kenny Rogers, Abba, Police, Prince, U2 ... more of Phil Collins/Genesis etc songs are not posted on this thread. Then I remember Springsteen from the 80's.These singers were extremely popular in the 80's and had many #1 songs on the chart. These songs were mainstream songs in Guyana. I tried to post the popular songs that I knew from Guyana not necessary here in the USA.

Then the 80's had a few spill over from the late 70's. I remember this song shal-la-la or something like that and its was a popular tune. Andre posted this song for Cain and me sometime back.
