I heard this song the other day after many years and the words just flowed into my head again. Y'all remember this one?

Billy Preston - I Wrote a Simple Song

I wrote a simple song
With simple words and harmony
Wasn't very long
Before a star, I was bound to be

I didn't care if it made the charts
I only wrote it for you and me
They think they're so smart now
They're not as smart as they want to be

They took my simple song, yes, they did
Log on to kill this message.
They changed the words and the melody
Made it all sound wrong, yeah
Now it sounds like a symphony

Who told them to mess with my
Oh, now, who gave them the right
I wanna know now
That song was personal

Because I wrote it for you
It's yours and mine, girl

I don't care if it
Makes the charts, y'all, no
I only wrote it for you and me

They think they're so smart
Yes, they do
They're not as smart
As they want to be

Who told them to mess with my
Oh, now, who gave them the right
I wanna know
That song was personal

Whoa, I wrote it for you
It's yours and mine

Yeah, yeah, oh, oh....

One of the greatest songs ever in the history of recorded music. Big Grin I've been listening to this one a lot lately.

Duran Duran - Ordinary World

Came in from a rainy thursday on the avenue
Thought I heard you talking softly.
I turned on the lights, the tv and the radio
Still I cant escape the ghost of you
What has happened to it all?
Crazy, somed say,
Where is the life that I recognize?
Gone away...

But I wont cry for yesterday, theres an ordinary world,
Somehow I have to find.
And as I try to make my way, to the ordinary world...
I will learn to survive.

Passion or coincidence once prompted you to say
Pride will tear us both apart
Well now prides gone out the window cross the rooftops, run away,
Left me in the vacuum of my heart.
What is happening to me?
Crazy, somed say,
Where is my friend when I need you most?
Gone away...

(chorus)

-

Papers in the roadside tell of suffering and greed
Here today, forgot tomorrow
Ooh, here besides the news of holy war and holy need
Ours is just a little sorrowed talk

(just blown away...)

And I dont... (chorus)

Every world, is my world... (I will learn to survive)
Any world, is my world ... (I will learn to survive)

Any world, is my world...
Every world is my world...

He drove his car in the stock car race

I'm so lonely without him near
Oh, how I miss his warm embrace
I love no other, I want him to know
Oh little star please tell him so

Although he wanted to give me the world
Why did he do such a reckless thing
Little star he should realize
I was wretched and mean when he looked into my eyes

Tell him thro' I may cry, My love for her will never die.

tell tommy i love him- skeeter davis

When I play this song at parties, everyone hits the dance floor. Smile

Albert West & The Shuffles - Cha La-La I Need You

Looked at you one day
Did you turn away
Since you're on my mind
There's no peace I find

Cha la la I need you
Cha la la I love you

I can't live without you
Thought our love was true
Had to go away
Can't you hear me pray

Cha la la I need you
Cha la la I love you

Honey can't you see
What you mean to me
We have climbed so high
Why our love should die

Cha la la I need you
Cha la la I love you

Please don't close the door
Give me a chance once more
Let me in and stay
Smile at me and say

Cha la la I need you
Cha la la I love you

Cha la la I need you
Cha la la I love you

Cha la la I need you
Cha la la I love you

Cha la la I need you
